       Feeling Like Crap
By: Generic Date: June 7, 2025, 11:37 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
I'm feeling depressed and like crap today. We have had guests
this week that just treated us like crap.
One set in particular made me feel like I'm their slave. Partner
said it's because they belong to a private club. Then why stay
here? Stay at a 5* hotel instead.
Food in the recycling and garbage. Not eating my breakfast and
my having to just put it in the trash. Today they called it
salty... there wasn't any salt. All that food in the compost
       bin.
I just put all the sheets and towels into one wash and set it to
wash. I need to go out and get OJ, fruits and vegetables for the
week and forget about what this morning felt like.

Sympathy. We get a few that just shouldn't have booked here. My
consolation is that they will not return.
Remember the Innkeeper's saying: They stay; they pay; they go
       away.
Chin up, you've made thousands of people happy over the years.

They are getting the DNR status, anyway. They shall not return.

I don’t blame you for taking it personally. We give a lot of
ourselves and most of the time, the appreciation is obvious and
       welcomed! They suck. You rock.

How DARE you allow yourself to be defined by JERKS!!!
So food was wasted - yes, it IS a crime, but I hope you figured
enough in the rate to cover cost & time. THEY are idiots and
louts to sniff at YOUR Food!
YOU are gourmet - something they would not recognized unless it
had a triple digit price tag. They sound like the nouveau riche
that judge quality by cost (and do not know when they have been
       cheated by that price tag).
Pull up your big boy panties, flip them the bird, and give them
a few choice words in all the languages you speak. you will feel
better and be back to the amazing innkeeper that you are.

They are gone and marked as DNR. So are the guests from other
room who were anti-social. Luckily you can mark an alert in
       ResKey.
Today, the mother threw up her nose at my pancake, but everyone
else ate them. I overestimated the batter, so we now have
muffins out of the rest of the batter.
The last laundry load is in the washer. We switched to an
electric mop, so that's done. All the bathrooms, garbages,
glasses, bottles and recycling are done. We have enough OJ for a
few weeks. It's become difficult to get frozen concentrated OJ.
Only one supplier for the whole country and therefore not much
       in sales prices.
Oh and 0/4 in tips this weekend. One of the rooms kept on
leaving their used towels in the shared bathroom... ugh! Do I
really need to start putting a note about that?
Do I really need to start putting a note on how to compost,
recycle and throw stuff in the trash? Some of the guests are
crushing the cans and removing the labels from the bottles, so
they can't be recycled. Why? Why is it so hard to just toss it
into the recycling? The machines TOMRA Reverse Vending Machines
  HTML https://www.tomra.com/reverse-vending/our-offering/reverse-vending-machines<br
/>read the bar codes to give you back the deposit. They roll the
can to check for the code. And bottles without a code can't be
       processed.
I'm contemplating putting a note that has all the rules... the
LONG LONG LONG version that says something like.... because both
levels of government here require recycling with high fines!
Food is NOT garbage! All food-related items—including packaging,
leftovers, tea bags, mugs, and cups—must either be placed on the
bar for our disposal, or you must handle them yourself in full
compliance with all the rules on the other side of this sheet!
Be aware that the city rigorously monitors garbage for food
waste. Their inspection process involves identifying bags
compromised by animals, and then cross-referencing with address
labels. For your awareness, a label with your name and address
has been affixed to your waste, enabling the direct issuance of
any $500 fine for non-compliance. We appreciate your
       understanding.
Recycling: All clean packaging, bottles, and cans go into the
recycling. Please do not crush items or remove labels, as both
       are required for proper processing.
Garbage: This is for all other items, excluding food and
recycling. Used napkins and tissues can be composted or put in
the garbage, but not the recycling.
Really, I just don't want the smelly food in their room
overnight and we will gladly go through a pile they leave us and
make sure it's done right. But I am NOT going through their
       garbage bins.
