Sorry, but no, and no.

Got this e-mail today...
I’m having a wedding next summer and I was wondering if
you guys do room blocks for weddings so that my guests could get
a discount and stay at your hotel if they book with the code!
I don't do room blocks. Every time I have marked off rooms,
holding them for wedding guests, only 1 or 2 book, and the rest
of the rooms sit there blocked so nobody else can make a
reservation.
And I don't do discounts for a bunch of wedding people. In fact,
I ought to charge them extra! They move furniture to other rooms
and leave it there. They make a bigger mess than normal guests,
and have more demands!

If I ever get around to writing my book, wedding groups will be
a whole chapter!
When we bought this place, the seller and her realtor - who also
owned an inn both said, “never take the bride!”

I have had people ask me to help them dress. I have had two
that waited and waited for a bus that never came, so I drove
them to the venue. I stocked the honeymoon room with a bottle
of champagne. The groom drank it with his buddies before the
wedding! She never even saw it. I had one group bring in a
catered lunch. And not clean it up! And trash from the
flowers! And the glasses all over the antiques from the toast!
Plus, I need those glasses for breakfast! So that’s another
dishwasher run!
Do you have…….an iron (yes, it’s in your room). a sewing kit?
Scissors? Tape? The number for a taxi? (Also in your room).
Aspirin? Bandaids? ……
The best….and it only happened once…..was making the breakfast
extra special with heart shaped fruit as the centerpiece only to
be told…..oh, we ( the whole house) won’t be eating. We are
going to an after-wedding brunch.

The horror stories make me glad I do not have space (or
bathrooms) for a WEDDING - only Elopements. Rarely more than the
Bride & Groom and they are always so very nice.
We did have one Zoom wedding - the bride was from Qatar and the
groom was from Canada. The Internet is a thing of beauty because
they found me.
It was in December so the wedding was in my Library. Afterward,
I took them to the log house for a tour. As we were leaving the
log house, the groom said (as I was locking uip), "It is really
something when you have to go outside to warm up." (It gave
understanding to why the ceremony was not at the log house as it
is other seasons - plus no Internet there).

That's saying something, for a Canadian to comment on the West
Virginia cold!

Once the log house gets cold, it does not warm up until June.
There is not heat in it. the are 2 huge fireplaces (back to
back) with their shared chimney. A man who had lived in that log
house when growing up said, "It was the coldest damned house I
ever lived in!"
