Hope all are well

It has been so quiet that I have been wondering if all was well
with my friends. No one popping in to say hello. No one popping
in to share a triumph or grrrr, or just say we are still alive
here.
This is my dead season. I actually had 4 room nights in
December. Both returnees.
the last time the fist one was here, I told him and his brother
the house his have no idea how many greats grandfather built was
on the market (actually hoping they would give it to the City).
They bought it but the timing was off with the City. It was
rented for a while (the renter died) and now they want to "sell"
it (maybe). He came in to show it to our SDA Board - he and I
chatted the night before and I hope he liked what I said about
what is happening in the City. Time will tell.
The other calls me Mom and I was surprised when he booked in
(both parents have now died). One of his brothers is now living
in the house! He brought me 3 varieties of kiwis (I did not know
there are red kiwis - a bit if red around the core), and Godiva
chocolates! He arrived while I was at Christmas dinner with my
late gentleman friend's family - they consider me family -
brought his stuff to his room and went to Christmas. I have the
nicest guests!!
I hope everyone has a lovely - SAFE - New Year's Eve and that
2025 brings a wonderful year for all. May you be as busy as you
WANT to be!

Still here, like you, missing my friend's posts. If I open my
eyes, put my feet on the floor, it's a good day in my book. Now
I wouldn't complain if there was a teenager pill that would give
me some energy, but it is what it is, I'm blessed.
Resort area, and near ski slopes, we have a winter season, don't
know if this year is as strong as some have been yet we have had
some construction folks visit mid-week during the fall that made
for a good year. I've no complaints.

Everything is chugging along just fine here. We had a busy
December with people coming to town to visit relatives. Nobody
said or did anything unusual enough to mention it here.
I did have one guy arrive at 11 p.m., long after I'd gone to
bed. He sent a message, which I got the next morning, saying
there IS no keypad on the door so he couldn't get into his room.
Luckily, he sent another message a few minutes later, saying he
found the keypad, that he didn't know he had to touch the pad
for the keys to light up. Of course, the arrival instructions
emphasize that fact, but people don't read.
I've re-done the arrival info email to put the part about
touching the keypad in yellow-backed/highlighted text in the
same sentence that gives their door key code. So if they know
their code, they must have seen the part about how to wake up
the keypad.
My place becomes more and more idiot-proof over the years, as
more and more rare problems arise that call for a solution so it
doesn't happen again.

Morning! We are enjoying retirement and holiday parties. It is
weird to lovingly decorate the house for Christmas and realize
later that only two people, besides ourselves, ever saw the
decorations. That was our two nephews who came for Christmas
brunch.
We are possibly Relaxing too much. 🤣. I will be
looking for a scheduled activity, whether a class or a volunteer
activity in the new year.
For now, gym twice a week and football on Sundays is our
routine.
Happy holidays to you all!
