I started the day as part of traffic control for our annual
Turkey Trot 5k fundraiser - we had people at every intersection
blocking traffic - the Police stopped the traffic on the US Rt
at both ends of town, until the runners cleared (at least an
hour).
Then I baked the things I was taking and drove about 65+ miles
to have dinner with someone I grew with "on The Road" cuz we did
not live in a town. It was wild. This is the first week of buck
season and they have friends who come to their camp to hunt so,
it was the hunter, me, 2 of their daughters & husbands, a few of
the grandkids (now adults), the parents of one daughter, and
other friends. There were about 20 of us - enough food to gee an
army! O brought home enough for at least 3 days
I hope everyone else had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Question: I know Canadian thanksgiving was last month, is it the
gathering and feast that it is here in the States?

Thanks for the Thanksgiving greeting.
My 82-year-old sister, who had a stroke in April, still in
physical, occupational, and speech therapy, made us a
beautifully baked turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, green bean
casserole, cranberry relish, and homemade pumpkin pie. I begged
her to not do it. I'd be perfectly happy with a Swanson turkey
and dressing TV dinner, but she insisted she could do it, and
she did!

Happy Thanksgiving. We have lots of out of town family here,
so the feast continues. Got to meet our newest niece who is 8
months old. Had half the group over for soup last night.
We had way more food than we needed but I guess that part of the
fun. 23 people, three turkeys, one cooked over the coals,
three gravy’s, two stuffings, five or six vegetables, a salad
with fresh beets, several appetizers and five or six pies,
whipped cream, coffee with add ins like Irish whiskey.
