       Well this was a first!

I did have a guest bring a ferret once, without permission. It
scratched/gnawed on up all the woodwork. She admitted it after
she left and agreed to pay $275 for repairs.
But this is a first: I had an upcoming guest ask today if it's
OK for him to bring his pet snake!
       The answer was no!

What's wrong with a snake? Probably not a poisonous snake ...
Now cats, I've sworn off cats. Dogs and damage are minimal,
       manageable.
Cats, with irresponsible owners, can soil and ruin a lot of
       stuff.
We still offer 2 of 5 rooms for dogs. No snakes yet.

Ask my liability insurance agent. He will probably say snakes
are good at disappearing, hiding in furniture, escaping and
entering another room, who knows! I will not risk it!
Not poisonous? So what. Imagine the publicity if even an
innocent garter snake showed up in another guest's room, or
anywhere on the property! No thanks!

We once had a man asked if he could bring his blind cat. It just
sat there all day until it was put on the litter.... no.
