Pet Friendly

I just don't see how places can allow dogs! Our dogs wake me up
every night, barking at some creak or pop, or something going on
outside, and once they start, it goes on at least 15 minutes.
I'm sure dogs can be trained to not bark at night, but how does
an innkeeper know if they are getting trained dogs or not? They
can't possibly know until after the guests arrive.
Or maybe dogs only bark when at home? I don't know, I've never
traveled with the dogs.

Don't have pets personally and not pet friendly at the motel.
Not really a dislike of pets, we have had pets in the past and
they become part of the family. I'm sure there is a big market
for accommodations that allow pets. However, personal or
business, pets are a lot of work, and I don't believe I'd be up
to the task. Our pitch is cute, clean, and friendly at a
reasonable cost. We would need staff to keep the same standard
with pets and that would eliminate my cost advantage.

We had some well loved regulars quit coming here because they
wanted to bring an ‘emotional support dog.’ I felt terrible
saying no, but we don’t take pets. At all.
I later got angry because they put me in the position to feel
terrible. I didn’t change the rules. They did.

I cannot decide who is supporting who with the emotional support
stuff. Those dogs rarely tough the floor (do they have anxiety
issues when that happens?). therefore must be a pet.
A Service dog is an extension of its human, therefore does not
qualify as a pet (and is NOT carried around).
No pets here either.

General policy for animals. No unattended animals in the rooms.
They always want to leave them and then they bark at everything.
