       DONALD TRUMP: Businessman, author, televisionpersonality
       By: IMPACT360 Date: November 21, 2014, 8:10 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Donald John Trump was born on June 14, 1946 to
Mary Anne MacLeod and a wealthy New York City
Real Estate developer, Fred Trump, who ran his
company called Elizabeth Trump and Son in the
U.S.A. While a teenager, Donald Trump exhibited
restlessness and his parents sent him to a Military
Academy to learn discipline. Their plan worked and
the school moulded him into a more focused,
disciplined person – attributes that would help him
in running a business empire in future.
Although he was the son of a wealthy
entrepreneur, Trump was not handed his fortune
on a platter. He worked for it, even since the time
he was a student at the Wharton School of the
University of Pennsylvania where he earned a
Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. After
graduation, he officially joined the company in
1968. His father handed the reins to him in 1971
and he began to run the business, changing its
       name to The Trump Organisation.
       Building On The Past
While his father ran the business, Trump assisted
him in selling middle income housing in Staten
Island, Queens and Brooklyn. Despite gathering
knowledge from the older generation, Trump was
determined to do Real Estate on a grand scale and
this he has achieved, despite numerous setbacks
along his way. Armed with the knowledge of his
father’s business and a desire for more, he moved
to Manhattan in 1971 because he believed there
       were better economic prospects there.
He first obtained the rights to develop the old Penn
Central Yards, and thus begun his expansion into
what his business is today. Currently, there are
several Trump Towers in various cities of the world
and they are all considered prime property.
He has, beyond growing a real estate business,
grown a brand. Developers often pay him to
market and promote their building. There are
several buildings named after him which are not
owned by him; the developers know that his name
       commands premium price.
Besides real estate, his name is also on several
       businesses, including Trump Financial, Trump
       Catering, and Trump Golf.
The dynamic business owner is ever evolving his
brand and service offerings to keep up with the
       times.
A man unafraid of failure, he has faced bankruptcy
and bounced back to an estimated wealth of two
billion, nine hundred million dollars as at
September 2011, according to Forbes. However,
Trump has claimed he is worth as much as seven
       billion dollars
Trump has also written several bestselling books,
including The Art of the Deal, Think like a
Billionaire, The Art of the Comeback, and How to
       Get Rich.
       Training Bosses
Besides selling real estate, growing his brand, and
writing books, Trump, in 2003, partnered with Mark
Burnett Productions and NBC Television Network,
U.S.A., to produce popular reality TV show, The
       Apprentice.
He also hosts The Apprentice, which stars about
eighteen business people in an elimination-style
competition for two hundred and fifty thousand
dollars and a starting contract to run one of
Trump’s businesses or stars celebrities competing
for charity. On the show, contestants are given
various business tasks to test and improve their
competencies. Today, The Apprentice is syndicated
in numerous countries around the world, including
Nigeria. It has been renewed for its thirteenth
       season in the U.S.A
