       [left]Yes... unfortunately this site is now private members
       only.  I won't, as a normal order of day to day business, be
       accepting any NEW members.  In fact, we're likely to lose the
       bulk of our non-contributing members as well.  Over the next
       little while I'll be looking at people here who have helped this
       site, who have been friendly to this site, have contributed 'to'
       this site.  People who come here out of curiosity or to
       free-load and grab something for nothing are on the way out even
       as I write this.  Why?  It's simple.  There's no need to be a
       member ANYWHERE if you're not going to at least make an
       occasional post to help OTHER members, show some gratitude for
       things you've gotten for FREE, encouraged other players in some
       manner, provided 'some' sort of GOODNESS to this place and it's
       OTHER members.
       If that's how you are... you're just deadwood, serving no
       purpose but your own self's non-caring greed.
       Sadly, the bulk of the internet is like that these days... in
       particular I might add, the flight sim communities (or what's
       left of them.)  In particular IL2 flight sim communities.
       IL2 is STILL a powerful force to be reckoned with in flight
       sims... it 'still' takes the lead in playability and use.
       Nothing has really so far come close to having what it offers.
       And yet it's pretty well dead on the vine (okay not really dead
       but certainly not respected like it was) not because of it's own
       faults... but because of OUR (the user's and communities of
       users) faults.
       We've fought, we've bickered, we've stolen, we've lied, we've
       run off good people because we (for one reason or another)
       didn't like them or took umbrage with some 'perceived' slight
       they might have done to us or our gang of bullies that we hand
       with, we've done SO MANY nasty things to each other over this
       game.  And all for nought.
       We've become jaded, hard-nosed, and self-righteous, we've become
       mean and vindictive to a large degree.  We've become a ME ONLY
       bunch of freeloaders, smug in our (supposed) self-worth and
       superiority.  Most of our humbleness is gone.  Most of the
       humble, helpful people are gone.  What's left are those that
       thumb their noses at courtesy, good taste, and happy
       friendliness.
       (Again, for the most part...obviously not everyone has become
       like that but I'm talking LARGE percentages here.)
       So we're sticking close to the root here.  Buttoned up.  Some of
       you will stay, some will go.  (I suspect the latter in a large
       degree.)  But it's okay... the ones that stay will CARE about
       this site AND each other.  They'll be helpful, interesting, and
       happy.  And that, my friends... is where it's at.
       We may not be a mega site.  We may not be popular.  But hey...
       we can STILL have fun with this old site and this old game, we
       can STILL have fun knowing each other and hanging out together.
       New people, I'm sorry... if you REALLY feel like you might fit
       into all this... send me an email and tell me what you think,
       I'll be glad to listen and take a look.

       if you are or have been some sort of contributor/friend to this
       site but accidently got caught in the freeloading net sweep and
       can't see the site properly and/or join in with us anymore...
       email me ASAP and I'll take a look and fix it immediately.
       I'm not perfect and I'm sure I'll make mistakes... so let me
       know if you spot one and I'll fix it.
