       Deadly Dozen (Pacific version)

An old first person shooter that I had a good while ago and
       enjoyed immensely. ;)
It was basically an 'inexpensive' FPS but unlike most cheap
games of that time frame (early to mid 2000's) it was actually
pretty well well thought out and executed. The small game
company turned out a pretty good simulation of US vs Japan...
with a small squad (I think like five grunts) of US Marines on a
tiny island in the Pacific where they carefully slipped through
the thick jungle on a special mission to wipe out some deadly
enemy and capture some important intel.
Gameplay is pretty solid... you can of course choose which one
of the five guys you want to be and that includes some pretty
nice weapon choices for your character, I.E. Thompson smg, M1
carbine, Garand battle rifle and so on. (or you can play the
Japanese part with 'their' weapon choices!)
You command your group... now granted, your guys aren't too
smart and often they'll get stuck in a tree somewhere...lol...or
go the wrong way and or simply refuse to move... BUT, they're
actually not too bad, you just have to keep a fairly close eye
on them and through your simple command interface prod them to
follow you along (or move ahead of you in the direction you want
as scouts.) One thing they do pretty well is move up and defend
you or give supporting fire. In fact, if not carefully managed
they can outshoot you and claim virtually ALL of the enemy
       casualties! Ha!
       :D
Graphics are pretty good, especially advanced for the time
frame...not on par with todays graphics, no...but still pretty
good and not ugly nor an eyesore as some of the old games were.
Again, the AI aren't genius level (which is good in some ways
and bad in some ways) but they're very workable. (Both enemy AI
       and friendly AI.)
There are drivable tanks, cars, jeeps, and so on (and they steer
quite well and can be fun to use.)
You can capture and use enemy firepower...both side weapons and
bigger things like tanks and cars.
There are options to play online... I don't offhand remember how
to do it but I know it's in the game, but if I remember
correctly it's a bit klunky. I remember having issues
connecting but that was long ago with a dial up modem... these
days with faster connections I would think it'd be faster/easier
but as of yet don't know.
I am presently re-downloading this game (a version that is
supposed to easily work in Windows 10) and as soon as it
finishes, I'll install and come back with a report on how it
runs on todays machines! If you remember this game and have
info or comments on it, feel free to post it up.
       S!
       Beo
