Missions Results/Debrief for Week of 4/20/20 thru 4/26/2020

POST MISSION RESULTS/INTELLIGENCE DEBRIEF
Mission Results for week of 4/22/20 thru 4/26/2020:
Member Name/callsign: E69_Haukka
Actual Mission Name: P51c over Normandy
Date single mission actually flown: 4/22/20
Results/description of mission: A formation of three He-111
bombers eliminated by my boys. A Bf109 shot down by this pilot.
Mission Score: 100
Misc. Info if desired:
I carefully studied the waypoints, and strictly adhered to the
indicated flight path, reaching the 9,000 feet that were
requested as flight height. When we were on course 090, I
spotted a formation of German bombers heading the other way. I
ordered my boys to attack them, while I watched the scene from
above. Very soon the Heinkels began to fall. I ordered a quick
regrouping, and set course 090 again, wanting to get to the
farthest waypoint to see what was there.
Upon arrival, we found nothing, so we decided to return. From a
distance, I saw distant shots, but I couldn't recognize
anything. As we approached Caen, the German flak started firing.
I saw a contact come out of the clouds above me, and I
identified it as a Bf109. I started a chase from below, the
pilot of the 109 broke right at a certain point, which allowed
me to get closer. After several attempts, his engine started to
smoke. I accompanied him for a while, flying at his side, but he
did not want me to accompany him, so I shot him again. That is
the price of ingratitude. Then I left him alone,
for he was no longer a threat. I ordered my boys to meet me and
we all went back to the base.
Since I am not used to flying this plane, I broke
the landing gear upon landing. It was a pretty hard hit. I think
I also lost a wing. The engine caught fire. Soon a fire truck
and an ambulance came loudly. I have been told that for two
weeks I will work in the kitchen, washing dishes. End of my
debrief.
Nice mission. Thanks!

Yes, I know. But I never put a mission on pause if it's a
serious mission. It is the custom of online pilots, who do not
know of breaks ...
It seems to me that pauses take away realism from the flight,
and I put them in the same category as waipoints and icons on
the map, labels and external views.
I usually take my photos when I see the track. But more often
than not, I make a video.
Seeing the track of this mission, I have discovered several more
errors in my flight. From inexplicable waste of ammunition, to a
high degree of clumsiness in landing. I think they are
consequences of being up late at night looking for aerial
targets. The mind works differently at those times.
Thanks J30_OttO!

Well done Haukka. Glad to see the dark smudges on the front
canopy were not just my set up. Your ground vision was better
than mine and I never saw any Bf109s just Fw190s and He111s with
many more clouds. I guess it changes every time you fly.

I never use " Pause " during the mission. What I was meaning
was use it in the recording.
By doing so there you can take a SCREEN SHOT........ ;)

These crystals and this cockpit are typical of the BAT, they are
not in another installation. The bigger clouds that you say, and
that are also in BAT by default, I have deactivated them, I
never liked those types of clouds, that's why. These are the
normal clouds that you will find in a simple version 4.12.2.
Thanks Larsresult!

That's me. I am waving hello, and though it may not look like it
exactly, I am using all fingers.
I thought I took out 3 separate He-111's, or at least in all
cases both engines were on fire. But the last one's gunner put
some rounds in my P-51 and i had an engine fire. I bailed out
and was captured and am now in Stalag 13.

Now that you mention it, 30 points seems a little high
considering what I accomplished. I think I will slip Sargent
Schultz a Hershey bar and make my escape so that I can do better
next week.
