       IL-2 AIR COMBAT OFFLINE COMPETITION
       Y2020 - Week 49 / Naval Strike
Hello friends. We started a new cycle of missions, after having
been fighting against the mosquitoes and the Japanese in
Peleliu. We now move to North Africa, where we will fly some of
the missions from an old Istvan Csizmadia (vpmedia) campaign,
"Beaufigters in the Desert". There will be exactly four
missions, selected from a total of twelve, which are the ones
that make up this 2005 campaign. As it could not be otherwise, I
have made some small modifications that I have considered
necessary, but always without altering the main content of the
mission. These modifications are limited to placing some
cameras, adding some observation planes and some bombers to
generate immersion, although these airplanes are not directly
involved in the action, but they add color and spice to the
       mission.
As I always say, try to fly as realistically as you can afford.
These are good and entertaining missions, VPmedia has done a
good job here. From here we send Mr. Csizmadia, our gratitude
for so much content that he has generated over the years. Now we
will taste some of their missions. I hope you enjoy them. Try to
get home alive and with the plane intact, you will need it next
       week too.
Mission tested in 4.12.2m & 5.3Modact, and VP Modpack (I'll fly
       these missions in VP Modpack).

       Y2020 - Week 50 / Recon the Coastline
Good morning gentlemen. We have work today. The Chief has asked
us for a heavy recon of the coast. When I saw him ten minutes
ago in his office, after giving us orders, he walked me to the
door and said: "Benny, I have a hunch, something tells me those
Germans will show up today. Take your four boys. I'll give you
an escort of three veterans. " "Thanks Boss, we will take off
immediately!", I replied, while I put my fingers to my cap.
You are already aware, we have three veterans who will watch our
backs. I am quite calm, and you?
  HTML https://i.postimg.cc/WzkMxpBC/Three-Stooges-Dizzy-Pilots.png
Hope so. We also believe that, according to our Commander's
intuition, action is assured. You know the way.
       Have a nice flight!

       IL-2 AIR COMBAT OFFLINE COMPETITION
       Y2020 - Week 51 / Tank Battle
Good morning gentlemen. Today I bring good and bad news. I'll
say the bad first: we won't be going home for Christmas. I'm
sorry guys, but this is our world now, and we will have to
continue fighting in these lost deserts of divine mercy, even
       for a while longer.
The good news is that today we will not be idle playing poker in
our tents, or taking long naps in the shadow of the wings of our
metallic birds. Today we will have action.
The orders that the commander has given us are concise and
       clear:
"The Afrika Korps continue to attack our beleaguered forces
without respite. Do what you can to hold up the Pz. IV Panzers
and destroy their commanders staff column."
We will carry rockets to try to stop those tanks. Remember that
these Panzers are tougher than prehistoric cockroaches, you must
be very careful to aim for the rear of the tank, in the engine
box. Another tip that will be valuable is to be very careful
with the altitude at which you fly, the dunes are misleading and
sometimes it is difficult to estimate the distances well. Do not
make your attacks with your eyes in the sight of the collimator,
or you will lose perspective and become part of the landscape.
As last recommendations, evaluate your objectives well, do not
attack the first thing you see. Remember that the column of
Germanic commanders is also on your list. Finally, do not stay
more than three or four minutes in the area, and return home
before the German fighters show up, if there are any.
Good flight, pilots! We wait for you for lunch time.

       Y2020 - Week 52 / The Italian Fleet[/font]
Good morning gentlemen. We have reached our last mission in the
desert. We have flown the powerful and versatile Beaufighter in
different roles: rocket attacks on small boats, large transport
planes, and armored vehicles. Today's attack will be dropping a
long torpedo towards a fleet of Italian ships. It is important
to respect the height above sea level, and the speed. Try to
start aiming from afar, while adjusting your speed and altitude.
If these conditions are met, your torpedo has a chance to hit a
       ship.
Try to get home alive. I wish you good luck!

       IL-2 AIR COMBAT OFFLINE COMPETITION
       Y2021 - Week 09 / BOMBER INTERCEPT
Good morning friends, the holidays are over and it is time to
fly, to climb and do well, regardless of the result, as long as
you have fun everything will be fine. This is the first mission
of this year, and the proposal is similar to last year, that is,
one plane for one month, and following a plot that links the
missions during the month. For the missions of weeks 09, 10 and
12 corresponding to the month of March, I have been based on a
Poltava campaign, "SUMMER BATTLES, Fiat's vs Polikarpov's",
available in Mission4Today; I have made many modifications and
changes to those missions, so that the missions can no longer be
considered as strictly original, but variants of them,
adaptations for this contest. The mission of week 11 is of my
own creation, it is a surprise that has yet to wait.
If you are still wondering which plane we will fly on, the
answer is in the wonderful article that Vonofterdingen has
dedicated to you in "the plane of the week": "Freccia"
  HTML https://il2freemodding.createaforum.com/plane-of-the-week-articles/plane-of-the-week-fiat-g-50-freccia/
All right, let's get to the point. We are at an airfield of the
Finnish Air Force, and it is June 24, 1941. It is a humid
summer, and it is very hot. And mosquitoes ... we better not
talk about mosquitoes! At our airfield there is a tense calm.
While we are in peacetime, we have heard that Soviet air units
are attacking cities and airfields all over southern and central
Finland! They are really pushing us to the limit of our
patience. Our squad is equipped with four Fiat g.50 Freccia. We
have flown them in the Winter War against the Russians, but we
had a lot of problems with cold and frost. In those days, if I
was given the choice between a Buffalo and a Freccia, my answer
was not long in coming ... Buffalo! However, Italian planes have
a unique beauty, particular, like that Neapolitan girl I met in
       ...
"Attention!" The commander yelled, opening the door of our
barracks with a bang, and immediately added: "Our observation
posts on the coast have seen a large formation of bombers coming
from the north, they have been seen coming ashore from the sea,
a few miles west of Kirkenes. Given the direction they're
headed, our base is likely the target. Take off immediately with
your squad and go find them, you must stop them!"
This mission is presented today in two versions, a version for
VP Modpack and BAT WAW (it is the recommended version), and
another version for 4.12.2m & SAS Modact 5.3. Please, choose the
mission corresponding to your version of the game. You will find
it in the folder "00_IL2 AIR COMBAT! (Weekly mission)", inside
       NN (country).
       Enjoy!

       IL2 AIR COMBAT! OFFLINE COMPETITION
       Y2021 - Week 10 / ALARM! SCRAMBLE!
Good morning gentlemen. As would be expected in a combat
contest, the level of demand can sometimes increase
dramatically. This is the case with today's mission. We are in a
typical Scramble situation, this means that once you are inside
your plane, you should not waste a second in goodbyes, writing
final wills, or thoughts of admiration in the face of the
audacity of the adversary, who shamelessly enters into your
kitchen, open the refrigerator, and steal your cakes and beers.
These are things that we cannot allow. Soviet pilots have become
bolder, and we need to be very determined to repel their attack.
You don't need to know much more.
Recommendation: in the event that your base is attacked, do not
chase the enemy away from the protection of your anti-aircraft
artillery, it could be that the enemy is setting you up, and
before long, you will discover that you are the turkey inside
the sandwich. Therefore, it is better to stay in the vicinity of
the base, waiting for the enemy's entry courses when they return
to attack, trying to cut off their path.
Ok, this mission is based on mission # 4 of Poltava's Summer
Battles campaign, although there have been numerous changes here
and there, mainly in the setting of the base.
       Mission tested in 4.12.2m & 5.3Modact, 4.12.2m & VP Modpack, and
       BAT BLUE EDGE.
       Happy flights!

After a LONG down time... I have (am trying) to get back into
this marvelous mission playing... I did the above mission and it
was mayhem! LOL! :D Very hard mission but I felt like a
pussy/cherry in the massive confusion of the battle (a MAJOR
soviet attack!) and the heavy foggy atmosphere where it was hard
for me to see. Had some issues with controller input too but
managed to get it straightened out mid-flight. Got my arse
handed to me and was killed... not shot down, no, merely
ploughed into the ground while trying to bag another kill.

Indeed, the link you refer to takes you to the page of

for the last few years on the continuous development of a

which is the one that I used to fly that mission. It is
       installed on a 4.12.2m and modact 5.3.
