Mission P51c over Normandy
Date flown 21/04/20
Points scored 25. Bailed out survived.
Debrief
Led my flight of 8 Mustangs southwards away from the city of
Caen where I knew there would be heavy flak historically. We
climbed to 10000ft. There was a weird cloudiness to the cockpit
like the groundcrew had not polished it or used the wrong
Brasso. After a few minutes the radio called out there were
bombers around but at first I couldn't see them due to sun glare
and clouds. I called my flight to attack bombers but they were
unable. I finally spotted some Fw190s through the clouds then
saw some He111s. I ordered the flight to attack bombers which
they did. I dove on the right hand bomber and collided with him
due to the glare and my poor eyes. (Doing a lot of that lately.
lol.) The enemy crew bailed out but I got no credit. I bailed
and survived and watched my flight down the rest of the bombers
while the enemy fighters just flew away without interfering.

Mission debrief Spit 02
Date flown 27/04/2020
Results 100 points one kill and survived. hoorah.
Info.
Decided to arm the Spitfires with 2x250lb bombs. Climbed out to
around 12000ft. Thought we were out of harms way but the flak
took out my number 3. Reached the airfield just as the 109s were
taking off so I ordered squadron to attack all. We dropped our
bombs on the dive and swept in to pick them off. They seemed
very slow, not just from take off. I noticed our so called high
cover P51s had kept below us on the way in then disappeared so
it was down to the seven Spits to deal with the enemy. I caught
one 109 on a climb and set his engine on fire. My engine began
over heating so I reduced throttle but it still over heated. I
decided to try and get another 109 and damaged two but not
enough for a credit. The engine problem worried me so I turned
for home after my ammo ran out. Made it back still overheating
at 40% throttle!

You will not need to change your mission time unless you fly
with VP Modpack. The same map at the same time is much darker in
that version.

Sure glad you figured it out... I was going to ask you to play
that mission in your STOCK game to see if it was different.
You already did that and it shows..
I wonder why VP shows it so dark ??? That is strange at
best....... ;)
