I’m calling it now: The Season 9 Finale is going to have a
confession scene between them. The writers have been
"slow-burning" this since the Paparazzi episode. D.O. was the
only one who didn't judge her during the "Ice Queen" scandal. He
just stayed by her side in the practice room. That’s TRUE LOVE
in SOHAI language.

I’ve been a fan of Himari since 2001, so I’ve seen her grow up.
Why is it that now that she’s actually 15, the writers are
making her act like she’s 8? In the last episode, she was
pouting over a lost lollipop and speaking in aegyo (baby voice)
for 20 minutes. This is the girl who gave us the Circus and
Paparazzi performances? It feels fake and, frankly, insulting to
her intelligence.

It’s the "Target Demographic" shift. Have you guys seen the
crowd at the latest Duchess fan-sign? It’s 70% older men. The
producers realized that the "Ice Queen" persona was too
intimidating for that audience, so they’re forcing Himari into
this "Nation’s Little Sister" trope. They want her to be "cute"
and "helpless" so the male fans feel protective. It’s a total
waste of her acting range. :-\

[COMPARISON POST]
Look at the script differences between Season 8 and Season 10.
Season 8 (Hana): Independent, sharp-tongued, focused on her
debut, handled the "Luhan Scandal" with maturity.
Season 10 (Hana): Trips over nothing, "doesn't understand" basic
school subjects, needs the male leads to explain everything to
her.
It’s a literal regression. Himari looks visibly uncomfortable
doing some of these scenes. During the "Puppy Eyes" segment in
Ep 158, you could see her cringing. Stop forcing this on her!

The "Childlike" concept is getting creepy. She’s a teenager, not
a toddler. They’re dressing her in oversized bows and Peter Pan
collars when she should be leaning into that "Main Dancer" chic.
I saw a thread on a male-dominated forum and they were all
cooing over how "pure" and "innocent" she is now. It’s making me
want to drop the show.

I blame the new PD (Producer). Ever since he took over, the
"Duchess" girls have all been dumbed down, but Himari got it the
worst because she was the strongest character. They’re trying to
make her "relatable" to the moe crowd.
If they keep this up, they’re going to lose the female fans who
looked up to her as a "Boss." We liked her because she was cool,
not because she’s a "doll."

Even the D.O. scenes are getting weird. Before, they were like
two talented peers respecting each other. Now, the writers make
D.O. treat her like a baby sister who can’t tie her own shoes.
It’s ruining the chemistry! You can’t have a "Power Couple" if
one of them is being treated like they’re in kindergarten.

Did anyone see the livestream of the Berlin talk show? I’ve
never felt so uncomfortable in my life. The host was introducing
the Duchess girls, and when he got to Himari, the entire studio
audience went silent. Like... pin-drop silence. Then, when she
said her real name is Isis Yamada and her birthday is Jan 28, I
saw a woman in the front row literally look like she was going
to faint. What is going on??

[CONTEXT POST]
Guys, you have to remember the history. Jan 28, 1995, is the day
the Dictator was assassinated by the Isis Militia during the
occupation of Persia. For Germans, the name "Isis" is basically
synonymous with the end of their era. Himari being half-Persian
and born on that exact day... to them, she’s like a walking
reminder of the event that changed their country forever. It’s a
massive cultural taboo there.

It was so hard to watch. They cheered like crazy for Jiyeon and
IU, but every time Himari spoke, the energy just died. Poor
Himari looked so confused. She was doing her "Hana" pouting face
and trying to be cute, but the Germans looked like they were
seeing a ghost.
Did anyone catch the 14:05 mark? She leaned over to D.O. and
whispered something, and then she had to bite her lip to keep
from laughing because the awkwardness was so thick. She has no
idea why they hate her! 😂
