It’s the "Glee" effect. Every show needs a Rachel Berry (Himari)
and a Mercedes (IU). The drama in the forum is exactly what the
producers want. They want us fighting over who is better so we
buy more versions of the album to support our "oshi."
Personally? I think Himari’s vocals are "Classic SOHAI," but IU
is "Modern SOHAI."

I am officially DECEASED. I’ve been watching SOHAI since 1995
(Gen 1 stan here) and I have never seen a 14-year-old command a
stage like that. The ringmaster outfit? The whip choreography?
The FIRE? Himari didn't just cover Britney, she became the
spectacle.

[VIRAL CLIP] Himari Kimura - Circus (SOHAI Special Stage)
Did you see the dance break? When she dropped into that split
and looked directly into the camera during the "All eyes on me
in the center of the ring" line? I felt that in my soul. The
antis are real quiet tonight. You can’t throw a shoe at someone
who owns the entire building.

Everyone is talking about the dancing, but can we talk about the
vocals? She sang the whole thing LIVE while doing that insane
choreo. Usually, idols lip-sync these heavy dance tracks, but
you could hear her breathing and the rasp in her voice. It added
so much grit. This is the "Main Dancer" who can also out-sing
90% of the industry.

I’m calling it: This is the "Britney of Asia" moment. The way
she handled the snake prop (was that real?!) and the
pyrotechnics... management clearly spent the entire season’s
budget on this one 4-minute segment. It was worth every yen.
She’s not just "Hana" from a TV show anymore; she’s a
global-tier performer.

[Neutral/Respectful] I’m a huge IU fan and I usually prefer her
soft vocals, but even I have to admit Himari ate this. The
"Circus" concept fits her "Ice Queen" aura perfectly. She looks
so intimidating and powerful. If Duchess’s debut doesn't have
this much energy, I’m going to be disappointed. Himari just
raised the bar for everyone in the 3rd Gen.

I still don't like her attitude, but... okay, I watched the
video five times. She’s talented. I’ll give her that. But why
does she have to be so aggressive on stage? It’s scary.

It’s called "Stage Presence," sweetie. Look it up!

I have watched the 1080p rip of this performance 50 times
already. The way she walked out in that ringmaster outfit?! I’m
sorry, but nobody in the 3rd Gen has that kind of command. When
she did the hair-flip into the floorwork during the bridge...
that wasn't "idol" dancing. That was Broadway level. 8)

[RESEARCH POST]
Guys, I did some digging into her 2001-2005 credits. Before she
was even a "sister" character on SOHAI, she was a child backup
dancer for several musical theatre productions in Tokyo and
Seoul. She’s been trained in jazz and contemporary since she was
five. That’s why her lines are so clean!

September 2009 is officially being called "Circus Month" in the
SOHAI fandom. The performance of Britney Spears’ Circus was the
moment the "Main Dancer" debate finally ended. While the "Vocal
War" with IU fans is still simmering, the pure spectacle of
Himari’s stage presence—rumored to be fueled by her background
in professional musical theatre—has gone global.
On the SOHAI-Central boards, the "Circus" thread has reached
over 100 pages in 48 hours.

She isn't just "good for an idol"—she’s a professional dancer
who happens to be an idol. The "Main Dancer" position isn't a
demotion; it’s the producers finally realizing they have a
prodigy on their hands.
