VIII has been coordinating information between everyone. Assume
that all mages involved communicated their experiences in full
to each other, without paraphrasing or telephone-game
shenanigans involved. (this might mean you want to read Team 1
       and Team 2’s scenes, respectively.)
Morena is unavailable at the moment. That leaves Hausos,
Solomon, and Rebus to begin the next leg of the investigation:
The Boston Children’s Museum. Located on Congress Street, and
intended as a edutainment facility for children up to the age of
3, this is a disturbing place for a murder spirit to roost.
The museum is closed. The weather is unusually hospitable,
considering the time of year: It’s Christmas Eve, and it’s a
picture perfect one at that. The moon is a waning crescent, and
there’s a light snowfall that melts when it hits the pavement.
Any colder than this and their breath would be visible, but as
it stands a born-and-raised Bostonian would just be thanking
their lucky charms that it wasn’t drizzling, or foggy.
The mages each arrive in their own vehicles.
Solomon has Murder-By-Moonlight with him, manifested in the back
       of his car.
There are no red minivans on the road tonight.

The project plan clearly being lead by Solomon and not just
given forward momentum by the nature of mages is going as well
as one can expect. Sure, ultimately VIII was coordinating
       things, but... you know.
Anyway, he gets there early so he can manage a small ritual
before everyone else arrives; it's nothing too fancy this time,
a bit of whispering over his dedicated tool, the carved iron
       pocket mirror.
       --- Quote ---
       > Falco Request: [7d10 t8] Roll: [10, 10, 8, 8, 8, 6, 5] Result:

       > Taking Inspired for exceptional
       > WP POINTS spent to relinquish both this and the ephemeral
       shield
       --- End Quote ---
Once everyone has arrived, Solomon finalizes the recasting of
Incognito Presence, touching all of them on the shoulder (after
saying why) to unleash the magic on both them and the spirit,
and then lets the casting of it he'd already had up fade away
for now. His spirit shield remains, though.
With that, it means nobody should pay them any mind. Staff might
be around a museum after dark, among other possibilities, so
none of them are worth paying any attention to. Even the
       murder-spirit.
"Alright, so, this is Murder-by-Moonlight, before you all ask,
and it's our tour guide for the evening," he explains quickly.
"So, on that note, where specifically were these boxes being
moved through?" he asks the spirit.

I arrive in a cab at the others’ direction, because my car just
stands out too damn much. I’m also dressed down from my usual
colors, in simple boots, jeans, a dark sweater, and a warm coat
with a fake fur collar and leather gloves. My hair is tied up
under a dark bandanna and a black ballcap with the phrase GO
       LOUD embossed in shiny black.
The spirit gets a measured look, but the face I turn on Solomon
is positively frosty. Nevertheless, I accept his touch and
casting, and move ahead with the group. I’m not much for this
kind of thing, but I’ll do what I can to help. Side-eyeing the
spirit gives me a chance to draw on the Circle’s teachings, and
I read it as unobtrusively as I can. The ban, at least, is
       something I can accept.
At least the children are safe.
“Let’s move this along,” I murmur. “It’s cold out here.”

The spirit lopes along like a gorilla, wings serving more as
tools of balance than flight. It’s bloody bandages drag along
behind it, leaving an interesting track in the snow.
“This way,” it whispers. It leads Hausos and Solomon to the back
of the museum, where a few eighteen wheelers are parked into the
       big open loading ports.
There aren’t many people here; it’s Christmas Eve so most folks
are at home with their families. The poor saps that aren’t here
are either working because they don’t have a choice, or because
they prefer working to their families. They’re all
less-than-fortunate-looking folks, piercings and leather and
denim and tattoos with weathered faces and muscled arms.
They’re loading small crates the size of CRT monitors into the
       loading ports, piling them up.
The few thugs working don’t seem to notice the group or their
       guide.

Solomon just raises an eyebrow at Meadow, deciding not to engage
with that look. Instead, he moves to follow after Murder with a
       wave to the others.
As they reach the back, where things are being unloaded, Solomon
walks up closer to the crates being unloaded. If they can be
easily opened without breaking anything he will, and either way
he calls down his Sight of the Supernal to overlay his own.
"These things have some downright twisted Resonance to them," he
softly mentions. "I can see why it would upset the local spirit
       population," he says.

With a quick Mudra, Solomon calls upon the Psychic Domination
rote to forge a link to the entirety of the thug group in the
area. ~Write down all information you have about what you're
delivering, from who, why, when, and anything of note about it,
and leave that and a copy of any documentation about this job on

He doesn't say any of it out loud, of course, not wanting to
break the group's stealth, nor does he want to be handed
anything directly. It does cause a bit of a grunt, though, as he
contains the Paradox from mind-controlling a bunch of Sleepers
like that; those headaches are killer.
"Give it a minute. Getting some information from them," he
       quietly tells the others.

Solomon leads us to the back, where people are loading crates.
When Solomon mentions the twisted Resonance, I open my own
Sight, and press my hands to my belly at the sickening vibes
rolling off those crates. I should probably look closer, and if
we weren’t under a fairly delicate shroud in a dark alley, I
might just do that. For now, though, I look away.
We need to get into one of those crates. “You a gambling man,
Solomon?” I murmur, very quietly to him, and focus on one of the
taller men loading crates. Have to wait for my moment.
Humans are astonishingly complex. The fun part about complexity
is, the greater the complexity of a system, the smaller a thing
it takes to throw it off. Now, what I’m about to do is a bit
like throwing a baseball at a window, in terms of subtlety, but
I don’t think the man will mind.

       --- End Quote ---
I focus on the man’s arms. This isn’t going to be fun for him,
but it’ll pass quickly enough. I discard my initial idea of a
simple muscle cramp; instead, I trigger the peripheral nervous
system, delicately playing the sensations like a fiddle. The end
result would be like a stream of bugs crawling all over his
       arms.
Sorry, friend. But this, in the end, won’t even cause you pain –
unless you drop that crate on your foot, anyway.

Solomon’s thug sets down his crate, and heads into the museum --
       where’s he going?
Meadow’s thug freaks the fuck out, dropping his crate and
screaming while batting at his arms. “THE F-FUCK!?” he gibbers.
The crate breaks open and it’s contents spill everywhere: Bits
and pieces of a shattered vase, made out of some tan-colored
       substance, and grey ashes.
“Shit,” the thug grunts, panting and sweating as the sensation
of bugs crawling on his arms fades. “The fuck.”
He catches his breath, and gets back to unloading crates.
The first thug returns right around then, a pencil and paper in
his hand. He scribbles on the paper, sets it down next to the
crates, and gets back to work.
If the group waits a moment, the crates will be finished
unloading. There’s still a little bit of work left.

       With Solomon's Mind/Space/Spirit/Prime Sight still active, he's
quick to give the vase and its ashes a look over, but only long
enough to pick up what his Active sight can automatically tell
       him.
As one of his commanded workers starts to walk off, though, he
does move to keep an eye on him; he'd cast the Incognito spell
with separate targets, so it's not as if they all have to stay
       within a bubble.
Seeing him coming back with pencil and paper, though, he quickly
walks back over to look at what those scribbles are.
"Can you get a better look at the vase and its contents?" he
asks Meadow while distracted. Gives them something to do while
       the workers finish.

Solomon frowns, and it deepens, initially because of the lack of
information on the document that had been prepared for him, and
then because of what Meadow tells him.
"You think he's using this stuff on those he captured? Like the
intention is to awaken them directly to the Abyss or something?"
he asks her, making a bit of a wild guess based on what they
       already shared with each other.
Pulling out his carved up pocket mirror, he murmurs a bit of
High Speech and walks by about arm's reach of one of the
workers, enough to be able to skim the Threads of sympathy from
him without touching him directly ((i.e making it an Area
thing)). It all only needs to last a short while.
As he finishes the spell, he walks back over towards Meadow and
holds the Mirror up, so she can see whatever his scrying window
comes across the for "Boss" sympathy held by this guy. Given he
didn't place any official document down, Solomon figures this
might be more than some middle manager.
