Finally back to my place of peace. This cave was a seriously
lucky find, and making it into a perfect place for my rituals
took time. I love this place. It’s beautiful. None of that
matters though. Tonight I need to cast a spell, and I need it to
work, so I’m taking my time to make sure everything is right. I
will begin the casting at the stroke of midnight, the time
       between, the witching hour.
I spend the time between, in ritual preparation. I clean my
body, spirit, and mind with oils, incense, and meditation. I use
a semi-shape scraper to clean my body. It’s silver with symbols
carved into it. The incense is a blend all my own. The scents
       symbolize important things to me.
I gather my tools once my cleansing is done. The most important
is my Athame. Asher made it for me. Like the scraper, it’s blade
is made of pure silver. The hilt is made from oak. The symbols
carved into it represent me and my connection to the Supernal. I
       begin with the words…
“Blessed Maiden, grant me power to see.” I say in High Speech. I
draw the dagger across my hand, drawing blood and mixing it into
the ash. I use the pommel of the athame to mix it in a wooden
       bowl.
“Blessed Mother, grant me clarity of vision that I might find
the answers I seek.” I continue in high speech. I add water to
       the mixture I’m preparing.
“Blessed Crone, grant me wisdom to understand what I see.” I add
as I apply the mixture to my eyelids. I place the athame in its
place on the altar. I kneel and call on the power inside me. The
       power of the supernal realm.
“Blessed be.” I say, completing the chant. For next several
hours I kneel there, in the nude, chanting and calling on the
power of the supernal. The ashes of the victim in front of me,
my eyes, unblinking, staring into them. I chant for twelve
hours. My legs cramp, but I ignore them. My eyes beg to blink,
but I ignore them. For twelve hours, until…the magic takes
       effect…

The room Morena finds herself in is dark, cold, and damp. She is
looking at the ceiling, and most of her vision is taken up by
the single source of light: A bulb hanging on a chain from the
ceiling, swaying slightly and casting sinister shadows across
       the brick walls.
       drip, drip, drip.
Morena is bound at the wrist, ankle, waist and throat. The board
she’s bound to is uncomfortable, to say the least. Flat, gnarly
wood. Like a makeshift table of some kind.
       drip, drip, drip
A wild storm rages outside. Wind howls, and rain pours nearly
sideways. Lightning flashes, but instead of bright light filling
the basement (?) it’s as if a blacklight were flicked on for
just a moment. Everything gets darker for those split seconds,
and the place lights up with blood splatter everywhere.
       drip, drip, drip
“C’mon, Seven,” a gravelly, masculine voice mutters, the person
it belongs to being out of sight. It has the tone of someone
who’s bet on a horse and is hoping they’ll be the winner. “Lucky
number seven. You can do it. I worked extra hard on you.”
       Moments pass.
Suddenly, a searing pain rockets through Morena’s entire body,
and she can hear off-key, rhythmless music on the air. Her
vision flickers between the sight of the swaying light, the damp
ceiling of the basement, and the flashes of black-light blood
splatter… and then there are flashes of a structure. An old
castle-like tower, with battlements atop it. It is made from
stone, and those stones are bleeding. The clouds behind the
tower are a sickly red color.
The pain burns into Morena’s nerves. The flashes of that tower
are miniscule, at first. But they get more and more frequent,
       and longer and longer.
       “Yes…. YES…” the voice says.
And then, all of the sudden, the pain stops. The Tower vanishes,
and Morena is once more looking at the ceiling.
“DAMNIT.” the voice says. There’s the sound of a gun cocking,
and finally the source of the voice becomes visible: A man walks
into frame. He’s bald, and covered in tattoos.
“On to number Eight, I guess,” he grunts, and points the gun
directly at Morena before he pulls the trigger, blowing Morena’s
face clear off her skull. Lights out.
       Drip, drip, drip…
Morena snaps out of the vision at last. She’s alive. Sweating.
       ((Roll Morena’s Resolve + Composure.
Dramatic failure: She gains the Spooked condition.
Failure: She gains the Shaken condition.
       Success: She’s fine.
Exceptional success: She gains the Steadfast condition.))

I scream as I come out of the vision and stand up like I just
got bit by something. "Holy shit!" I yell outloud. I look at the
other bodies and just..."Hell no..." I say. I shove the one I
had out into the bag, and close it. There is no way in hell I'm
doing that for the rest of that... Then my phone starts
ringing... I did tell her to call my at noon, and she is the
       prompt type...
I hit the answer button. "Yeah, I'm here." She asks me if I
learned anything new... I describe the vision, in detail, not
hiding the abject horror I'm feeling. "I'm not doing that again.
Where should I drop off the ashes?" I ask, and when I get my
answer, I thank her, and hang out... I need to get home, get my
head clear...and sleep... I know I'm gonna have nightmares about
       this for fucking weeks...
