December 19th, 2024, 16 Belthune Way, in Roxbury, 3:20 AM.
I prefer nightshift. It's when the weird shit happens. Weird
shit means possible Supernatural interactions. Not that anyone
would believe me if I said that though. I'm on a call in
Roxbury. A man was tied to a chair while his home was ransacked,
then executed. A single gun shot wound to the back of the head.
It...removed his face, so we know it was a high caliber round.
The man's name was Johnathan Parker. No wife, no kids, no family
of any kind. No one to mourn him. He collected rare books.
Hopefully he kept an inventory, it will make figuring out if
anything is missing a lot easier.

I look around but see nothing... What was that?

I hear it again...from below me... The basement. I find the door
and head down. The sound gets louder

My ears start to ring. Something is drawing me to it... The
sounds gets faster as I descend the steps
Thrum-bump-Thrum-bump-Thrum-bump
Louder, faster, more urgent... I see a light... The wall of the
basement is glowing...then everything goes black...

15 minutes later...
I wake up in the backseat of my car. My partner must have put me
there. My legs hang out with my feet on the ground. He head is
spinning. Then I remember...there's something in the wall. I sit
up bolt straight, nearly hitting my head on the car's door
frame. There's something in that wall, and I need to get to it
before some Sleeper accidently stumbles on it, but I have
time... I can still hear the thrumming, but it's fainter.
I stare at the house. Something put that there, and I'm not
entirely sure Mr Parker knew about it. I think whoever killed
him did though... I'll need to come back later, after we've
finished up here. Whatever is in that wall is likely valuable,
and dangerous. I need to be kept safe...More importantly, the
Sleeper population needs to be protected from it.

10:00 AM...
The scene has been secured. Evidence has been collected,
pictures taken, and Mr Parker's body sent to the morgue. There's
1 cop on duty as a guard. I know him. He'd let me in, but I
don't need evidence that I've been here... I need to get past
him, quietly. He's not paying much attention really. Reading the
paper. That's good.

I watch him from my car, and use high speech to cast the spell.
It will deafen the world around him, and make it easier for my
to sneak past... Once it's done I exit the car, and try to slip
past him...

Which I do, with surprising ease. In the house I go, and down
into the basement. The Thruming is there again. Not as loud this
time. The wall begins to glow the moment I'm at the base of the
steps. Time to get to work...

The wall looks like old brickwork. Very old. I pull my pocket
knife and test the mortar of the bricks. It comes out easily.
Thank fuck for that. I start removing bricks, and it doesn't
take long to reveal a hollowed out section of all with what
looks like an old leather book inside. On it's cover is a blood
red gemstone. There's a lock that looks to be made of old
wrought iron, and a lock. I pull it from the wall... There's
something...off...with this book...
2 hours later...
The book is on my kitchen table... I don't know what to do with
it... It still thrums. I've scoured my own library for anything
useful, but...nothing... I may need to talk to another member of
the Arrow.
