       ---------------------------------------------------------
The apartment smells like death. It’s a smell you get used to in
my line of work. I’m standing in the victim’s bedroom, idly
staring at the last place the body had been before being lifted
       and moved to the morgue.
The department has already come through, categorized the
evidence, and processed the scene -- I’ve already done my due
diligence by viewing the untouched scene before they showed up.
This is just me going above and beyond; coming into the crime
scene after the fact and checking to make sure I hadn’t missed
       anything.
This scene doesn’t have anything particularly obvious that
stands out as supernatural, but after working this job long
enough, you get a sense for the weird ones. This one tickles my
       hunch-gut.
Some guy shot in his sleep. All his belongings left
untouched. His kid claims he saw the perp climb out the window.
Nobody saw the perp come in, which means they probably came IN
the window as well as leaving that way.
Thing is… the fire exit isn’t accessible from the ground floor.
It’d take someone like the Uratha to have gotten in, and out,
       that way.
The fact that a witness was left is bugging me, too. What kind
of killer this calloused would leave a witness alive? Something
tells me there’s more going on here than meets the eye…

She had heard about the crime scene over the police scanner she
owned that once upon a time was her fathers. She wouldn't have
thought much about it except this was the second murder to take
place in that same complex in the past year, with similar
circumstances. She knew about the other one because she had
found some of her father casefiles that he had brought home ,
and no one collected after his murder. Her fathers hand written
notes had said he had felt there was something odd about the
scene, something that didn't make sense.
She couldn't help but wonder if he had been onto something, if
maybe that was why he had been killed.
She curiosity would not let sleeping crime scenes be, so she had
put on her leather jacket, her heavy boots and made her way
       there.
The door was locked, not surprising, but this wasn't the best
apartment building judging from the lock she should be able to
just pop it open with her ID.
There was a rattling of the door that would let Tracy know
someone was at the door, and trying to get in.

Is that… someone… trying to come in?
The entrance is clearly marked off with crime-scene tape. I
can’t imagine anyone from the Department would be joining me
       here, either, which means…
…which means I need to vanish really quickly and figure out
what’s going on. ‘Killers always return to the scene of the
crime’ and all that might not be true, but someone who has a
reason to sneak in is trying to sneak in and since I can’t think
of who that would be, I need to find out what I’m missing.

After a couple of minutes of fiddling the door pops open.
Tucking the card back into her pocket she ducks under the crime
scene tape and into the apartment. Wait, why were the lights on,
didn't the cops usually turn them off as they left? maybe not,
She wasn't a copy yet, and this was really her first time
       sneaking into a crime scene.
The scent of death hit her in the face like a punch and she
coughed and gaged, but didn't throw up. lifting a hand she put
it over her nose and mouth to block the scent a little as she
started looking around moving around slowly and quetly looking
for anything and everything that might just stand out a little
       more then anything else.
She had no idea anyone else was there at all.

Something about this crime-scene doesn’t sit well with Camryn.
It’s difficult to place a finger on why -- after all, a normal
person could have done what was done here, provided they were
monstrous enough. But here, in this Chronicle of Darkness, that
       just might be enough.
Something is off. She just can’t put her finger on what,
exactly, is tickling her senses so.

But she’s not talking to herself. She doesn’t seem to know what
she’s looking for, either -- she’s perusing the scene, not going
to a specific place. It’s hard to get a bead on her.
So, with the element of surprise, I do the only thing I can do.
I step out of the closet with my weapon drawn.
“BPD,” I identify myself. “Hands where I can see ‘em!”

She had her back tot he closet Tracy had been hiding in so when
it burst open and Tracy jumped out she jumped and spun around
his a started yelp holding her hands up and out in front of her
showing that they were empty. "Shit! don't shoot me, please!"
Holy Shit! her heart was going a million miles a minute and all
she could do was stare at tract wide eyed.
"I am unarmed." She kept her attention focused on Tracy her
hazel eyes wide. "I didn't know anyone was here!"
crap she probably shouldn't have said that last part it made her
sound a little guilty of something.

I look her up and down as she says she’s unarmed. She doesn’t
seem to be carrying a weapon, but you can’t be too sure.
“I’m gonna pat you down,” I say, closing the distance. “Make
       sure.”
A quick pat-down later and I’m holstering my firearm, stepping
away from her so I’m not invading her private space any longer.
“You know this is an active crime scene, right? What are you
doing here? Do you know anything about this murder?”
Something about her doesn’t exactly scream murderer. Maybe it’s
how she was nearly retching at the smell alone. I saw what was
left of the body, it was way worse than the stench here would
       indicate.

She held still her hands still held out in front of her as Tracy
pattered her down. Once She stepped back she relaxed a little,
just enough to lower her hands to her sides.
"Yeah i heard about it. I came to look around.." She shifted how
she was standing and sighed softly. "Not much." She looked at
Tracy meeting her eyes. " My name is Camryn Mason. My father was
       Detective David Mason."
Tracy might know the name. Detective was a good cop one that
looked out for people, did his best to make sure that criminals
were put away. he refused to take bribes, and he stood up
against others cops that were probably a little shady. That was
something that got him into a lot of trouble, and who time and
time again he was given the odd cases. The ones that didn't make
       sense or couldn't be solves.
"I know that this crime is like a crime that took place in this
same apartment building about a year ago. That crime wasn't
solved wither." She shifted her weight from one leg to the other
biting her lip. "I read about it in one of my dats old files. "

should have recognized her from his wallet photos. “I worked

Never did solve his murder. That’s one of those cases I keep on
the back burner, returning to the evidence every now and then.
Guy just… died, and I never could figure out how or why.
“You really shouldn’t be here,” I say. “It’s very illegal, you
could get in a lot of trouble. I understand why you want to,
       though.”
       I sigh.
“Tell you what, kid. You share your file with me, and I’ll share
