       I gently squeeze her hand as she sighs sadly. Aw. Poor thing.
       Don’t be sad. I’d get up and give her a hug if I wasn’t chained
       to this stupid bed.
       In fact? I don’t stop at a squeeze. I pull her hand up to my
       face and give it a gentle kiss.
       Geeze it must be cold outside. She’s still like ice.
       “You must be a Soundcloud rapper,” I deduce, finally. “That’s my
       final answer.”
       I give her a big grin, eyes wide, and nod as if she can go ahead
       and praise me for getting it right.

       She smiled softly and actually turns a slight pink when Lucy
       kisses her hand. She continues holding her hand after. She was
       icy because she just came in from outside, right?
       "Soundcloud rapper huh? I'm not even sure I know what that is!"
       She laughed a little. "I'm a paranormal investigator." She
       revealed at last. "I'm still learning the ropes, though. You'd
       think I'd automatically be good at it, being raised by a ghost,
       vampire, and werewolf. They rarely did anything supernatural,
       though."
       "They did enough to help me with my own latent powers, though. I
       know they weren't lying about who they are." She smiled.
       "Sometimes I feel a bit like Mowgli, after leaving the jungle."

       “A Paranormal investigator… that’s fancy,” I say with a grin.
       All the more reason to keep my secret as safe as I can.
       “I bet you’re gonna be really good at it,” I muse aloud. “You’ve
       got a really open mind. I like that, too. It’s important to
       believe in what you do.”
       I smile.
       “You know that the Vultures in the Jungle Book movie were
       originally supposed to be voiced by the Beatles?” I say.
       “I’m a really big disney fangirl,” I explain. “I grew up
       watching the little mermaid, wishing I could have legs too.”
       I laugh, looking at my cast.
       “Could probably use a new pair right around now, I guess…”

       She nodded slowly. "Yes, it is, but so far I haven't really
       found anything. Oh well, got to keep looking." She nodded,
       confirming this course of action for herself.
       She shook her head, "I didn't know that, in fact I've never seen
       that." She admitted. "I've seen Tangled, and Frozen, but haven't
       seen many of the older Disney movies." She smiled. "I think you
       wished too hard for legs, confused the cosmic entities out
       there, and started off in the opposite direction!" A laugh.

       “I believe in you,” I say warmly, squeezing her hand again.
       Now I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. When this all
       started, I was afraid to share my secret. Now I see that sharing
       it would give her hope for her career… but she’ll know I lied to
       her and that’s just not cool.
       So I’m fucked either way. I’ll have to figure out how to tell
       her -- later. When the time is right.
       “They were nice legs, too, before the crash.” I pout.
       Yes, because having nice legs is the heart of this problem.
       Truly.
       “Maybe the cosmic entities out there were jealous of them and
       decided it was time to take me down a peg,” I snicker.

       She smiles brightly. "Thanks. That means a lot, honestly it
       does." She did seem mollified, for now, at least. Also she
       seemed to not detect any untruth on Lucy's part.
       The change of topic to Lucy's leg seemed a relief and an
       amusement. "They were nice legs! And probably will be again,
       given time." She smiles. "You're a hard worker, and determined
       person. You are gonna get through this so fast they'll want to
       write medical books about you." She smiled and squeezed her hand
       again.
       "Are you tired at all? Have you been able to sleep here?"

       “Finally,” I laugh. “I’ll be famous! Just like I dreamed of when
       I was little.”
       I shake my head. “Haven’t been able to sleep at all. They’ve got
       me hopped up on drugs and there are nurses in every five
       minutes--”
       --welp. Here comes another one. Right on cue. The nurse pokes
       her head in and motions to Casper.
       “Visiting hours are almost over,” she says. “Time to go.”
       I heave a hefty sigh, and squeeze Casper’s hand again.
       “Thanks for stopping by,” I say. “You’re a good friend.”

       She sighed softly when the nurse says it's time to go, but gives
       her a smile and a thanks that has a similar effect as it did on
       Helga. She then stands and gives Lucy a snug, but cautious not
       to hurt, hug.
       "I'll come see you again tomorrow." She assures her, then
       smiles. "Try to get some sleep." She leans in to kiss Lucy on
       the forehead, then turns and exits with a small wave.
