She parks the car in the park and I relax a little bit, visibly.
I know this park. I hunt here regularly, it’s part of my
territory.
…Weed. We meet again.
“Sure,” I say, even though I haven’t smoked weed since before my
first change. Is that going to make me more or less likely to
pop a gasket and wreck the inside of this car? I don’t know.
I guess there’s only one way to find out.
“I’m no lightweight, though. Might want to charge me for the
privilege or I’m liable to smoke you out of house and home.”

“Trading sounds good,” I say, taking the pipe and hitting it not
nearly as hard as she did. “I can start,” I say, holding it in
my lungs for a moment before letting it out.
“What’s the point of being a witch? You hex people or
something?”
Well, nobody ever said I wasn’t direct as fuck. Always been like
that, but even more so since the Change.
I exhale, filling the car with smoke. I sure hope this isn’t
going to set off the animal in me.

I smile, and think for a moment. "I'd only cast a hex on someone
if they deserved it. For me, it's mostly honoring nature and
preserving and protecting what I can. I have real power. I can
speak to animals, command spirits, and enhance my senses. I can
even speak with the dead, if I need to. Eventually I will be
able to do more, but I'm still relatively new to Awakened life.
It's only been about two years. I have a lot left to learn."
That's probably way more than she though I'd say, but I'm
trying to set a precedent here.
"What about you? What's it like being a werewolf?! It looked so
cool!" I say excitedly.

Huh. She doesn’t sound so different from me, if you think about
it. Except I can’t command spirits. I just discorporate them
when they get too uppity.
“Not the world’s best job,” I say with a shrug. “I patrol my
territory and keep the spirits from hurting the people, and the
people from hurting the spirits.”
Pause.
“Or at least, that’s what I try to do. Still kinda new at this.
Only been a werewolf for like, a month. Don’t know how I
changed, or why. It just sort of happened. That's why I was
hunting that cop -- spirit took him and went on a killing spree,
had to put a stop to it.”
I take another hit and pass the pipe. "What about you? Use your
powers for anything specific?"

"Keeping spirits from hurting people is good. Same for the
reverse. They're tricky little fuckers, but I can use my magic
to learn things about them, like their names, how powerful they
are, and the powers they posses. Which gives me an edge when
dealing with them, which I have to do on occasion." I say and
take the pipe back, taking another big hit from it.
"Besides that I spend a lot of time in nature. I can also talk
to animals. You'd be surprised how much a squirrel can tell you
about the neighborhood it lives in." I say with a laugh, as I
hand the bowl back to Max.
"So do you know any other werewolves?" I ask curiously. She said
she was new to this, very new and she didn't know how she
changed. That must be lonely.

“Nope. Kinda on my own out here,” I say. “As far as I know, I’m
the only werewolf there is.”
Now that I say it like that, I do feel kinda lonely.
“It’s been an experience. Everything’s all… heightened, dialed
up to 11. I get super hungry. I get super tired. I get super
angry. I get super horny.”
Speaking of. I look her up and down again. I don’t hide the fact
that I’m doing it, either.
Yeah, she’ll do.

in my seat so my back is against the door. "That sounds lonely."
I say about her being the only wolf she knows of. "I know other
people like me, but a lot of them are pompous asshats." I take
another hit from the pipe. "Wolves need a pack." I note, taking
my turn to look her up and down...wolfishly...

I grin. "What makes you think I'd stop you." Then my common
sense fires and I realize that I'm in the car with something
truly dangerous... Every warning light in my brain turns on at
once and I pull my knees to chest, curling up to protect my
important middle bits. I drop the pipe onto the floor of my car,
and whimper a little...The great and powerful witch, terrified
of the redhead she's previously been flirting with. The body
language that girl puts off is just...scary...
