       If u are having issue with steam and get error about model/playe
       r.mdl

       go here and i have heard some say they just clicked the link and
       it downloaded i had to right click and save link as and it
       downloaded  i used the smallfix and it worked for me ...so go
       here
       and just download the playerfix  and put that zipfile in ur
       halflife folder right click and click extract here restart steam
       and u should be good to go
