The 14-24mm is an incredible lens - so incredible, I used to use
it on my Canon camera with an adapter. But I stopped using it
because of the bulbous "popeye" lens design, which makes it
difficult to use filters on the lens (the filter holders and
filters for this lens were very large). The 16-35mm is a great
lens, much smaller and easier to use, and it easily accepts
filters. Personally, I shoot now with my Canon 16-35mm f/4 lens,
which is much smaller than the Nikon 14-24mm (Canon finally
produced a really great wide angle zoom with this lens, so the
image quality is similar to that of the Nikon 14-24mm). But I
also occasionally use my Canon 11-24mm lens - which is also a
popeye design, but you just can't beat that 11mm angle of view!
