Introductions!

Hi Everyone! I hope to learn as much from y'all as I do from
Ian while we are here so I thought it would be good to introduce
ourselves so we know a bit about each other. So here goes...
Me? I am a photographer who shoots for pleasure at the moment.
My goal is to one day have my own instruction/workshop/tour
business based loosely around Photography, Photoshop, and Social
Media. I am based in the US in the beautiful state of
Michigan. My passions are landscape and wildlife photography as
it gets me outdoors in nature. I have also been bitten by the
"compositing" bug and have begun to explore creating images
based on my slightly off-skew sense of humor as well. I am here
to soak up as much knowledge as I can, and to take advantage of
the opportunity to be able to ask the questions that I wouldn't
normally get to ask, given Ian's vision for the workshop being
free-flowing.
So with that.... I am looking forward to working with y'all and
getting to know each of you more!

Hi Everyone, my name is Dennis and I live near Vancouver,
British Columbia. I've been serious about photography for about
15 years. For ten years, my daughter and I worked together as
wedding photographers but we both changed directions a little
and no longer do that. I'm a retired school principal and can
now devote more time to photography, our four grandkids and
travel. I also teach photography and Lightroom courses.
This course interested me because I'm always interested in ways
to increase the appeal of my images. The 6 specific topics of
this course addresses areas I recognize I could give more
attention to. So, I'm always eager to learn and grow and look
forward to interacting with each of you.

Hello. My name is Jack. I live in Hollywood, CA and have been
shooting seriously for about two years (translation: tossed the
point-and-shoot and picked up my first DSLR). I'm big on the
outdoors and traveling so my favorite things to shoot are
landscapes, wildlife and travel shots.
Looking forward to learning from all of you and being challenged
to take my work up a notch or two.

Chile. Landscape Photography it's my passion, I'm amateur and I
hope to lean a ton in this course. Another of my passion is

Hi- Craig Marvil. Been shooting a number of years. Originally
UW, now "topside". Trying to get from postcard and photo-book
photos to ones that reflect what I felt when I was at the scene.
Have admired Ian's use of light for some time now and look
forward to the course. Naturally he started with one of the
most difficult but interesting lighting situations. Good thing
I just got the flare info.

Hi, I'm Micki Clay. I live in a tiny port town just a few miles
up river from the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia. I shoot when I
travel and when people ask me to do pro bono projects for
them--head shots for the church pictorial directory and
documenting local events and initiatives where the sponsors are
more interested in quantity than quality, which has gotten me a
in rut of run-and-gun grab shots. So, when I saw this course, I
thought it would be a great way to immerse myself in photography
for six weeks and set a new course. What interests me most is
the human or animal element in both the natural and built
environments.
