also uncomfortable standing on the stool and I took a deep
breath and let it out slowly. I was beginning to think the front
of the hut should have been done first as I was having quite a
time reaching up under the eaves. I would get down and move the
stool to a different place hoping it would help, but it didn't.
I thought there had been different sized lengthy poles for this
reason and decided I needed to go and look. I climbed off the
stool and put it back where it was before I began to relocate it
all over the place and started to return to the shed. I hadn't
gone too far when I stopped to look over the front of the hut
and to note the progress. I almost groaned because the front
part did, indeed, look a bit more challenging, but when I looked
up at the sky, I did groan. It was a groan that was long and
drawn out because clouds were moving in and they appeared to be
snow clouds. Not that I would know the difference. And
considering that most of the day for me had been spent out here,
I knew this wouldn't be completed today. I was halfway to the
shed when I turned around to go back and gather the mops with
the long handles. I gathered the one bucket too and would come
back for the stools after these had been put away, which I did.
I was thinking, as I began to make my toward the hut's door, if
it didn't snow, then it would be beneficial for us to get a very
early start. However, because it was still difficult for me to
determine when it was daylight, we'd have to wait until the
skies looked lighter, if not brighter too. And if I knew one
thing, it would be that I knew Waratah would be helping me on
the morrow... as I entered the hut, I called out, ”Waratah!
Waratah! We need to talk... sooner is better than later, tool”

was talking about. White washing with the snow on the hut it
would be white. Beside that Mistress has asked me to make sure I
had clothing that was suitable after all all I really had were
silks and in this weather, it would be no good so I had spent
the day making some kirtles for us to wear, as well as making
some soup to keep us warm.

excited about things. But when told that “we” were tasked to do
something and to ensure it got done, I don't take my time. Why?
Why would anyone want to drag out a task or a chore when the
sooner it gets completed the sooner you get to have a little
time for you to do what you want. That is, of course, if your
Owner is satisfied that the you've completed the task assigned
and that it looks that effort was put into it in making sure it
was done correctly. I entered the hut, ready to find my chain
and have a much-needed discussion – actually, she would be the
one listening and I would be the one ranting and raving at her
for not helping. But!! I couldn't find her. The hut isn't that
big and there isn't anywhere that she could possibly hide and I
wouldn't be able to see her! This is the second time that this
is happened, and I would be more than a little irritated if it
happens a third time! I was ready for a confrontation! And!! If
it got to the point we would tussle and smack each other around?
Well!! I was ready for that too! I doubted it would come to
that, in fact I knew it wouldn't come to that. Waratah was just
.. different and not accustomed I would imagine to whitewashing
anything. Then again, I wasn't and still aren't so what point am
I trying to make here? Is there a point? No, there wasn't a
point. I was just ranting. I was looking forward to being with
her. And what I was really looking forward to seeing was her
walking through the snow!
I burst into a fit of giggles at the scene playing in front of
my eyes... the images were non-stop and all I could see were her
arms held straight out and moving in circles as she tries to
keep her balance as we're going to the shed... or to the other
side the hut... or! Priest Kings help me!! When we're on our way
to the Village Storeroom! I heard her call out to me from
somewhere in the hut and about that time, my nose went into the
air and my mouth started to water and I realized that I was
hungry. Very hungry. I immediately made my way to the kitchen
and as I turned the corner, I saw Waratah and all my frustration
went away because she was here...and she was ok, [I]”Tal,
chain...” [/i]I said as I sidled up close to her so I could
reach out and pinch a butt cheek with my fingers, Sure could
have used your help today whitewashing the hut.. But I got one
side done but that will probably have to done again due to the
dirty water streaks and maybe we'll be able to get it all done
by tomorrow. I moved as quickly as I could out of the way and
leaned against the counter.

felt bad, I should have been paying attention instead of running

it looks very, very good on you! I said. I apologized to you as
well for sounding so.. bossy and irate when I entered the hut. I
was still mulling your question around in my head, plus I didn't
want to give the wrong answer … so, I answered it honestly, ”I'm
not really sure why we were told to do this in this type of
weather, all I know is, is that it is in our best interest to
get it done. I told you that I was whipped for getting the
floors dirty, didn't I?" I thought I had but before you could
tell me yes or no, I continued, "She's fair to me and is to you,
too. She had you get different clothing for the climate here,
didn't she? Rather than have you be outside it those flimsy
silks you were wearing, she'll take care of us Waratah, but we
will have to take care of her, too... and we'll do that
together. Because by myself I had to struggle with most of what
needs to be done and get done. And with you here, we'll be
ok.... I'll help you as much as I can, you know that. But she
has her own way of doing things and will have things done as she
commands us to do them." That was what I truly believed in my
heart. I pushed away from the counter and came up to the side
away from the pot of soup. I placed a hand on your shoulder for
reassurance and as a reminder that I was here for you. "I'm
going to go wash up. That soup smells delicious by the way and I
can't wait to eat." I gave an other light pat to that shoulder
and left to wash up.

washing up I will get the soup served I had made some sul rolls
as well I knew that In time I wanted to set up a beehive to make
honey and such like I was doing at the port.
While you were cleaning up I got out two slave bowls, filled
them up with soup it was a Vegetable one and some sul rolls with
some butter, I knew there was lots there so plenty for a few
days … Setting up the food on to a table where I await for you
to return

and I just couldn't understand the why of it. It wasn't my place
to question or understand any of what we are told to do... I
knew that it would be helpful for us to understand because if we
did, wouldn't that also give us a little bit of insight into who
our Mistress is? And not just that, but wouldn't it also help us
understand her better as well as serve her better? I believed
that to be true. I made quick work of washing up because I was
very hungry. I had skipped the morning meal thinking that if we
got an early start, it would put us in good shape. But as it
happened it didn't quite work out that way. Tomorrow was a new
day and a day where Waratah and I would be able to get this hut
done. Of course, having to redo the side I believed had been
done satisfactorily was an oversight on my part, but a lesson
learned too. In fact, the lesson in general here is
white-washing and how it is and isn't done. As I looked back at
my reflection, I couldn't help but make a face and throw the rep
cloth at the polished glass. It bounced off of it to fall into
the basin I had filled. With a sigh, I plucked it out, wrung as
much water out of it as I could and put it back on the bar next
to Waratah's. I left the bedroom we all shared... dinner was
waiting!
I almost ran to the table that had already been set and saw that
Waratah had made sul rolls. I didn't see the honey-butter so I
skirted around the table to move into the anteroom of the
kitchen where more shelves and extra storage for pots and the
like were, and retrieved the jar from the counter and placed in
on the table as I sat down. Reaching for one of the rolls I
said, "I just started learning how to cook. In fact, the Cook at
the Main Hall has given me recipes but I'm thinking maybe you
can do it all!! I tore the roll apart, dipped the end of a spoon
into the honey-butter spreading it over the one half and
continued, "I think a builder is coming this week or next week
to start the process of adding another room. Do you think she'll
let us decorate it?" I took a bite of the roll and near melted
into the seat, turning to look at you with a big smile and my
head nodding as I pointed to my full mouth that this was good.

before adding a ladle of Soup into the bowl makiing sure to get

plate along with a kinfe and a spoon there was a small jar of
honey butter and fresh butter set at your spot as well With the
bowl and plate in my arms I move to you and placed it upon the
table

Placing a hand on the back of the chair, I began turning toward

standing, and wouldn't seat myself until Mistress had taken her
seat.

of soup to cool, I said, We are restricted from any sexual

beforehand. I still held the spoon. When it began shaking, I

it down. I checked for flaws, found none and wiped the cup clean
with the cloth I had then turned toward the stove. Taking up the
ladle I brought the cup close so I wouldn't drop any and emptied
the ladle of black wine into the cup. I replaced the ladle and
then turned to bring it back to the table where you were
sitting. I set it within your reach, saying, "Your black wine
Misress..." I stepped back and waited before I sat myself in
case there was something else you wanted.

when I was collared to the Tuchuk and immeidately moved to the
fire. It didn't need any wood but it did need to be poked.
Reaching fo the tool that would allow me to move the wood and
maybe break it up a bit more in the process, I jabbed at the
logs burning, watching as red spraks flew from the blaze.. they
were lifted into the chimmey part of the fireplace. I remember
the last time I was in this samwe Hall... it was the night a
fire had accidentally been started outside of the fireplace..
and the night I had begged Her collar. I turned my head to look
at Her and felt that heart within beat faster... a smile formed
and in an ihn it was gone.
Turning my attention back to the fire, I jabbed at it again with
similar results. One of the logs that had been thrown onto it
was almost ready to break, forming hot embers that would burn
ahn after ahn until it was no more... another jab only moved it
back... I would give it one more jab then return to Mistress..
and jab I did and more sparks flew, but the log remained in
tact.. appreantly it wasn't quite that ready to be broken into
little pieces of burning embers. Before replacing the tool used,
I looked at those flames dancing.. burning and licking as they
fed from the logs ... some were now charring and others were
already ash... I had to tear myself away or become lost within
those dancing flames so I returned the tool carefully and made
my way back to Mistress to kneel within reaching distance.
