       Premise

       Bomber shot down after completing a bombing run over (German
       location here) .... 3 crew members survive and start trek to
       safe zone.
       Struck with fear and on the verge of panic the crew members make
       their situation worse by allowing themselves to fall prey to
       fairy tales and their own imaginations.  Seeing things such as
       ghost soldiers, folklore creatures, and a real patrol seeking
       out the crash they spiral downward deeper and deeper.  Two
       survive that encounter and stumble up on (insert thing here)
       which kills one of them as he's hasty in trying to pick up (that
       thing here).  A surviving German patrol member stumbles up "mein
       Gott" as he clearly recognizes but doesn't believe.  American
       Soldier surprises and gains advantage, but German Soldier has no
       drive to fight as he's taken back by what has been discovered.
       Forced to translate the mythology/etc is explained ... as
       another German patrol is approaching the American Soldier does
       what he has to and places his hand on (that thing) and is
       possessed/imbued/whatever ... legend of (is born)
       FFW a bit of time ... German Soldiers afraid of entering the
       woods etc
