"9/11" scenario ... where were you? Live, emergency alert, WE
ARE NOT ALONE!
======================================================================================================
'scattered' dinner w/family each doing their own thing in the
eating area/family area. The alert comes across the TV. Wife
swears it's some kind of joke the local news is playing and
calls her mom. Father is holding son/daughter. After some time
they look around and can't find the 6yr old. He's made his way
out to his tree house where he'd gone to look through his
telescope. There are drawings/etc of 'friends' all over the
walls, sci-fi comics/etc in the tree house and all that. In
life, many times the most intuitive and comforting among us are
our smallest in stature. They often provide the biggest hearts
and brightest minds. General idea is to try and portray through
that innocence, intellect, and simple yet sophisticated thought
process of a child ... the initial coming to terms with and hope
within the event.
"We don't know anything about them ... they could be very
dangerous and mean us harm ... we have no idea what they want or
why they're here"
"We didn't know anything about this place when we moved here.
The people here could have been bad and want to hurt us. Nobody
here knew what we were moving to town for"
"It's different though ... we were able to visit here first and
ask around ... we could do research about"
"Well maybe they have been doing that too Dad ...."
Blank stare
"... That place in the desert ... all those shows we see about
seeing flying sauckcers ..."
=========================================================================================
Astronauts on the International Space Station have to "witness"
and "take part" in the history of humanity from orbit. The
entire time they're outwardly researching and projecting and
there they are stranded in space itself as Earth is visited.
Helpless to do anything but stare out of the viewing windows and
hope a signal will come through ....

THE EYES OF A CHILD
PAGE 1: Full page panel. Kid's soccer game in action (6yr olds).
Bright sunny picturesque day. Parents on the sideline cheering
the kiddos on. Perfect.
CAPTION - That morning our youngest had played his first soccer
match. They won. He hit a hat trick. It was amazing. It was
perfect.
PAGE 2: Five panels. We see various stages of the rest of the
day.
PANEL 1: Little boy being raised in the air by man (father).
Mother and older brother (10yrs old) in scene with joy on their
faces.
CAPTION - He did so well. We were so proud.
PANEL 2: The family of four in an ice cream/frozen yogurt joint.
The 6yr old has it all over his face and just has all the joy in
the world all over his face. The family is laughing.
CAPTION - I don't know that we could have been happier that day.
PANEL 3: The 6yr old (w/help from mom) is happily yelling into a
phone.
CAPTION - Our family shared in the elation of the huge day.
PANEL 4: The family at a park. It's late afternoon/dusk. The
kids are playing together with friends.
CAPTION - There was so much excitement, so much energy, and so
much life.
PANEL 5: Kitchen scene with mom/dad getting the meal while the
kids are at the table laughing with each other.
CAPTION - That DAY was perfect.
PAGE 3: Three panels. Two page wide 'slim' rectangle panels and
one half page 'large rectangle' panel.
