pulled from a 12 month period starting 6 months before January
1, 1993 through 6 months. Some will be true to life while
others will not]

Ted Turner and WCW had been divorcing the NWA since Turner
bought JCP in 1988. While the NWA name had helped his WTBS
become a national institute he'd always had eyes for bigger
things. Ted always had a spot for pro wrestling too. With plans
to launch TNT into a brand new atmosphere of entertainment,
Turner followed the suggestion of Eric Bischoff to create new
WCW programming as the WCW and NWA had officially split. When it
was announced at Starrcade 1992, that WCW would be launching a
new television program, LIVE, on Monday Nights on TNT the pro
wrestling world exploded. WCW Monday Nitro would be on of the
leading programs for Turner's push to grow TNT. This gave
Bischoff and the WCW Board an open account to make the splashes
necessary to make sure that the launch was not only successful
but that WCW took over the pro wrestling world.

falling out with McMahon and rumored steroid issue, offered big
money tied to performance and conduct)

character rights for silence on rumored steroid dealings)

YET TO DEBUT (Curt Hennig - wcw offered better contract at end
of 1992 and wcw willing to pay for appearances through injury
until in ring ready)

tourney)
YET TO DEBUT (Bret Hart - Shows up at GAB to see what the fuss
is about. WCW offered guaranteed contract - Hart one of many
miffed at McMahon for steroid dealings and Flair coming in w/big
gold)

w/Patriot)

tour)

MAIN STORYLINES/Happenings:
PWI December '92 - reports of steroid scandal fixing to erupt
and rumors that McMahon had agreed severance and even
allowed/agreed character rights to current and former wrestlers
in agreement to keep quiet.
Warrior Debuts on first edition of Monday Nitro (advertised as
the Ultimate show, Ultimate pro wrestling experience, and
Ultimate leap forward)
Flair and Heenan debut slowly start Horsemen rebuild. Tully
runs in during Flair/Funk "exhibition" at Slamboree ...
eventually Hennig replaces as "upgrade" ... at war with Arn due
to "differences and Flair being only about himself" ...
Arn/Eaton/Rude/Austin at war against Heenan led Flair/Hennig/
January 13 1993 Clash of the Champions - Hart and Davey Boy
debut as special guests of Dusty Rhodes/Bobby Heenan debuts at
announce table
February 21 - SuperBrawl III - Randy Savage debuts as special
opponent/challenger for Ricky Steamboat/US Title
"Flair for the Gold" debuts as RIC FLAIR RETURNS TO WCW
March - Japan Supershow III
April - "powerhouse" tournament debuts Jim Neidhart (Davey Boy,
Vader, etc) AND Rick Rude returns to Alliance
May 23 - Brand new Slamboree PPV and WCW hall of fame, Larry
Hennig inducted by son who then does whatever saying not only
here to put pops in the HOF ... Sid re-debuts as Cactus Jack's
tag partner
