       The joint territories have faced dwindling resources for
       decades. The post solar flare world hasn't been kind to anyone
       but the joint territories have felt the worst of it all. A few
       corporations had used the apocalyptic event to enforce a ruling
       class and keep a boot on the head of the remaining populace.
       Initially instituted as a way to placate the common folk, the
       Red Line Race was created to give the worst kind of hope to the
       people. False hope. Just be the first to cross the Red Line
       after racing through the joint territories and all you could
       ever dream would be yours. Held every four years, the race was a
       beacon of what could be for anyone regardless of status. Only
       ... past winners were merely stories passed down, rumors and
       speculation but nothing substantial. The truth behind the
       corporations, state of the joint territories and the race itself
       were all safely guarded.
       This year's race will be the 13th running ... and luck will run
       out for those in the ruling class.
