Hi Brian,
I have never done a relay so I have some questions. How much
would it cost me? Are we able to rest/sleep between walks? I
thought it would be fun to be part of a competitive group. Has
your group competed before? would my time help the group? what
exact category would we compete in?
Regards Ron

Hi Ron,
I'm Donna, Brian's wife. I am helping him captain our team. Our
team has been around since 1993. This will be my 19th year on
the team so yes, we have experience. Last year we placed second
in the mixed walkers division. This year we don't have all of
our team back so it will be a bit different but we are still in
the mixed category. Our newbies are a bit slower than the
walkers they replaced but they just might rise to the occasion
so it is hard to say where we will place. Our goal is to be as
competitive as we personally can and have fun as a team doing it
with a great group of people that are family and friends. The
cost is estimated at $125 right now to cover the registration
fee and the gas for the vans. We have not been able to line up a
condo or motel room at Seaside yet so there probably won't be
any cost there. We will probably just use the schools for
showers and resting. They do fund raisers each year, and so for
a minimal cost you get to be clean and can get some sleep
depending on which van you are in. There is about 12 hours in
between the two legs that you would do. With your speed, you
will probably be in van 2 which has harder legs.
If you are still interested, please give Brian a call at
503-347-7547 or me at 503-449-8920.
Thanks,
Donna
