Save up your Ally coins for the new Droid Event.

Ally coins (which you get farming LS/DS/Cantina) are used to
refresh attempts at all but the highest tiers of the new Droid
Event.
I usually spend mine as soon as I get mine, so I'm currently
empty. To my knowledge there is no maximum limit like the 1999
for energy or 999 for cantina energy.

well... thats unfortunate I have:
7* IG-86
6* IG-88
and thats it for droids... As soon as IG-88 hit 7* I planned to
go for HK-47 and I am farming for general grevious, but no way I
can unlock either in 6 days. I guess ill try to unlock the magna
guard but I think he'll only come out at 2* sadly lol

Mine is showing it takes normal energy to play them...not Ally

But Ally coins, as well as energy, to play a phase more than
once a day, for all but the highest tier. That takes crystals
to replay.
