You’ve decided to put in an application. The staff have
[li]If you’re coming without a parent/guardian, we will
figure out which of our available Foster Homes will best suit

home, and who your Care Worker/s are. [/li]
[li]We’ll ask you for a picture of your bedroom (300px width),
and get that set up for your arrival. [/li]
[li]Under Profile (at the top of the board), click on Forum

Re: Moving to HCP
By: admin Date: December 9, 2015, 4:56 am
---------------------------------------------------------
I don't have a family coming with me. Where will I
live?
There are four Foster Homes at HCP: Bay House, Brook House,
Ocean House and River House. They are each under the care of at
least one Primary Care Worker (PCW). PCW’s are in charge of the
foster homes. They live in the homes, and are in charge of
making and enforcing the rules. The PCW’s are not foster
parents. They are responsible for the children in their care,
but are not there to pick up after them: the children and
teenagers are expected to help out when it comes to housework,
kitchen duties, laundry, etc. and to take care of themselves
when it comes to personal care. The PCW’s are the first port of
call if any disciplinary issues come up with a child/teen who
lives in the foster homes. When you are accepted, you will be
told the name of your foster home and PCWs. Put the specific
foster home under where you're living, and the names of your
PCWs under adults responsible for me.
Every child/teen without a parent/guardian will be assigned to a
foster home upon approval of their application. We judge every
application on a case-by-case basis as to which foster home will
be the right fit for each child/teen. Each home has its own
rules and is run individually, at the discretion of the adults
in charge.
When Young Adults without family move to HCP they will be placed
in the foster homes as Assistant Care Workers (ACW). This means
they help out the PCW’s where necessary. This is a part-time
position that is flexible around study or work commitments. What
an ACW assists with is determined by their own comfort levels.
Adults moving to HCP without families are encouraged to live in
the Foster Homes. They can choose to be either PCW’s or take on
a position as an Occasional Care Worker (OCW). This is a casual,
evening and weekend position, interacting with the children
socially and if necessary assisting where it comes to
discipline.
