       Definitions Two major issues are being disputed today on the
       Peruvian political scene. The first is the date of the elections
       to elect a new president and a new Parliament. The Executive, in

       advancement of general elections to April 2024. This project

       The Executive's project has been widely accepted in Parliament.
       However, the political reforms that in the government document
       are presented as "democratic and constitutional changes in
       Congress, fundamentally obeying the sentiment of the citizens,"
       in practice have become a package of provisions that congressmen
       have presented to benefit in the medium and long term. Thus, the
       Legislature is currently seeking to approve bicameralism and the
       possibility of congressional re-election – prohibited in 2018
       through a popular consultation – and the elimination of the need
       for a vote of confidence from Congress in the ministerial
       cabinets, to remove the presidents from the possibility of
       dissolving Congress if it rejects two councils of ministers in
       succession, as occurs with the current regulations.
