Personality:She is a typical Irish Gemini. She can be quiet,
reserved (even guarded and overly cautious), analytical and
seemingly shy. And she can be energetic, outgoing, courageous,
impulsive, spontaneous, funny (loves to play practical jokes on
her friends) and open. She can be stubborn, headstrong,
hotheaded, tenacious, opinionated, curious to a fault (which may
cause her to be somewhat reckless) and bold. And she can be
generous, affectionate, honest (sometimes to a fault),
respectful, nonjudgmental, independent and self assured. She's
as comfortable in a formal evening gown and rubbing shoulders
with kings and queens as she is in a pair of old blue jeans and
cowboy boots (and she can conduct herself accordingly).
Special Skills: Surgical nursing, military company commander,
superior horseback rider & handler. Created her own style of
Martial Arts, combining Tae Kwan Do, Aikido, Ken-jutsu, TaiChi
Ch’uan and Eskrima (calling it Ketatchi) & holds a 2nd degree
black belt in it.

History:
She was born in 1835 in Blarneying, Ireland. She was found as an
infant and adopted by Liam (an Immortal) and Mary Flynn. Her
parents brought her to the USA when she was 15. They homesteaded
land in the Oregon Territory and by 1855 the Flynn family owned
a profitable ranch raising cattle and horses. Her Ma died from
TB in 1851 & her Pa & she butted heads so often that she ran
away at 17. She joined a traveling Shakespeare Company & married
an "actor" in 1952 (killed by a jealous husband 8 months later).
She was accidentally shot (and killed) by a stray bullet when
the stage coach she was traveling in was caught in the crossfire
between a US Calvary troop & a band of Sioux Indians in 1853 (as
were the other 2 passengers & the driver). She woke up in a
tepee in the Sioux village, where she remained & lived as one of
them for the next 5 years when the entire village (except for
herself & 3 others) were wiped out from Cholera. She made her
way to San Francisco where she found she had a talent dealing
poker so she took a job working for a professional sleeze in the
back room of a bakery. She met Amanda Darieux who hired her as
a dealer in her new establishment (replacing her Queen of
Spades) and they quickly became fast friends. Amanda decided to
take Nicayla on as her student and trained her until 1865 when
Amanda was shot in the back while making a getaway after robbing
an art gallery, therefore, having to disappear for awhile.
Six months later Nikki took her first head & experienced her
first Quickening.
For three years she wandered throughout the Pacific Northwest
and the “frontier states” occasionally taking a break in
whatever Lakota village she came across.
In 1868 she wandered into a small town near what is now
Greenville, Washington and ended up being instrumental in
catching most of a gang of robbers (and killing their leader)
who robbed the local stage carrying the town's money. Her
“heroism” earned her the town's people's unanimous vote for
Sheriff after their sheriff was killed when one of the gang of
robbers tried to escape from the gallows. She homesteaded some
land in a meadow in the nearby mountains and built a
home...settling down and up[holding the law of the town.
In 1883 she met Duncan MacLeod when he stopped in her town for a
shower and a break from the rode. Duncan stayed in town for a
month and they spent the time getting to know each other and
Nikki began to fall in love with him (and believed he felt the
same way). When the son of the robber she had killed comes to
town and called her out, Duncan got in the way (trying to
protect her) and got shot...dying from his injury. After the
towns people buried him . Nikki waited until it was dark and
dug him up. They made wonderful, passionate love until dawn.
Duncan had to leave before he was discovered and he asked her to
go with him but...even though she was more than a little tempted
she declined because she had a duty to the people of the town
she was protecting so she watched him ride away alone.
By 1885 Nikki had gained a bit of a reputation in the Pacific
Northwest (as well as few of the outlining territories) as being
an accomplished marksman and gunslingers began showing up
wanting to “de-throne” her. She finally decided that her
reputation as a gunslinger was putting the once quiet town in
jeopardy so she “retired” as their sheriff and returned to
Ireland. She won 60 acres of land near Dublin in a poker game on
the ship ride over, and turned it into a small but profitable
horse breeding ranch. Still broken hearted over letting Duncan
(and a chance at real love) slip through her fingers she buried
herself in the business until 1914 when the US entered WW I &
then she sold it all & returned to US soil where she volunteered
in one of the Army stateside rehabilitation hospitals again
using her nursing. In 1918, when the war was over she took her
savings & moved back to Oregon, bought 100 acres and started a
cattle ranch.
By 1920 she had earned enough money to buy another 100+ acres in
Northeastern Arizona where she started breeding thoroughbreds
and quarter horses. In the course of the next 25 years she
traveled back & forth between the 2 ranches so frequently that
the generation changes of the locals & her crews didn't register
her non-change. But she was thrown from my horse and off a cliff
on my Arizona spread (presumably to her death) in 1942. She
joined the newly formed Women’s' Army Auxiliary Corp as a nurse
and by 1943 became a skilled surgical nurse which sent her into
the South Pacific working in hospitals fearfully close to the
front lines of battle. By then she was a Captain in the new
Women’s' Army Corp & when the war ended in 1945 she transferred
to a base built specifically as a WAC basic training (boot) camp
where she commanded a training company until 1958. She realized
she needed to move again (ladies she had trained were getting
older than me) so she rolled an Army Jeep into a deep river &
again went "underground", buying (back) her ranch in Oregon (by
this time she had experienced 6 more Quickenings).
In 1965 she acquired (back) her Arizona ranch which she ran from
Oregon until 1969 when her foreman's son started to look older
than she did. That was when she discovered Darrell Oaks (her
Watcher) & his organization. They became fast friends & he
watched from a closer point until he turned his files over to
his daughter Peggy & retired in 1980. Since then, Peggy & Nikki
had become like sisters. They worked out together, meditated
together, even partied together.
In 2000 Nikki became tired of working as hard as a ranch owner
had to work, liquidated everything and Peggy talked her into
moving to a small, quiet, peaceful town called Seacouver (Peggy
had a friend & fellow Watcher named Adam that had taken up roots
there & recommended it). Nikki...having an aversion to big city
life...bought a small ranch outside of town & turned it into a
home for teenage orphans who were too old for group homes and,
seemingly, unadoptable. They would live on the ranch (she
converted the main house into a dormitory (and eventually turned
a couple of the bunk houses into more dormitories) and be
responsible for caring for and training one of the horses in
Nikki's stock in an effort to teach them responsibility and
build their self esteem and confidence. She built a small cabin
in a remote corner of the ranch and has been living there ever
since. She met Peggy's friend 4 months after moving into her
home (of course blowing his cover, but promising to keep his
secret), and Peggy's boss, Joe Dawson a month later when "Adam"
took them to Joe's Place to celebrate....something. Nikki joined
a Dojo in the city (unaware that the Dojo belonged to Duncan who
had been traveling extensively since the death of his fiance in
1993.
In 2005 Peggy was discovered hiding in the shadows (doing her
job) by one of Nikki's challengers who killed her before taking
on Nikki and losing. Nikki was consumed with guilt over her
friend's death and was ready to leave her good life in Seacouver
behind and go off on a journey of self destruction. It took Joe
and Methos a year of intense convincing to keep her grounded and
in town where she still lives.
