History: Born May 12, 1279 – Annie is found half frozen by a
childless couple of the Clan Fraser traveling to Inverness to
meet their Clan. They name her Glenna, because she came from the
valley of death. When she’s 15 is forced to marry a widower from
the Clan Fraser, living on the banks of Loch Ness, twice her
age, with two young girls from his previous marriage. Since she
fails to get pregnant and give his husband a son, experiences
some episodes of domestic violence, until she meets an older
woman known as the local witch who teaches her that a woman can
rule a man without him realizing it, that a smart woman, who
uses what resources she can find, can take herself far in the
world, if only she knows how to manipulate the men. She learns
her lesson well, and peace settles in her household.

Scotland, 1304 – When she’s 25, Kronos and a gang of mortal men
attack her small village and kill everybody. Kronos rapes her in
the middle of her small house over the body of her dead husband,
who died trying to protect her. She never knew what happened to
the girls. When he’s finished with her, he stabs her and kills
her, that is her first death. When she revives, she’s in a
strange tent, in a strange camp, it’s night and Kronos is raping
her again. They move on, and the pattern repeats itself often.
Despite that she always keeps her wits and uses what things she
has at her disposal, her charms, and the way she can make men
desire her. Playing with their lusts and desires, she turns
Kronos against the other men, as they start daring to ask Kronos
for their turn with her. Kronos is furious, he still considers
her his private plaything, and yells at them that they’re not
his brothers. She doesn’t understand what he means by that, but
knows her plan is working. She then gets Kronos to kill them one
by one, while keeping herself interesting to him by fighting him
a little now and then, she knows the moment he stops considering
her a challenge and loses interest, he’d pass her to the others.
After Kronos catches the last man of his gang trying to rape
her, the day comes the two of them are alone.

Scotland, 1308 – After two years of living alone with him things
haven’t changed much, he still considers her his slave, but
Annie has realized he’s not an ordinary man, having seen him
fight she knows he can’t die, and that his wounds heal fast, but
has no idea she’s like him. Even when he gets mad and kills her
she thinks he’s using some kind of magic to bring her back. But
she has also discovered that even though his moods change
quickly, and she always has to be alert with him, if she keeps
him happy, he’s much easier to deal with. She knows he might be
a demon, but in some ways he’s basically a man, and like all
men, the minute any physical contact is made to his masculinity,
all higher brain functions cease. They’re always moving south
now, and Kronos keeps looking for Methos, who he calls his
brother. One day they come across another Immoral and his
student, and even though Kronos fights and kills the teacher is
unable to resist the student that comes for him after the
quickening. Annie thinks that if he dies she dies, she picks up
the dead Immortal’s sword and fights in Kronos’ turn, although
the deceased Immortal’s student injures her pretty bad more than
once, she has gotten used to pain by now and doesn’t give up
until she manages to stab him in the heart. Kronos is impressed
that she had learned so much just by watching him, and orders
her to take the student’s head, just like he’s done to the
teacher. When she does so, she gets her first Quickening. He
realizes he was too close to his demise, and considers taking
her as a student to prevent this ever happening again, and she
seems a fast learner. He also realizes that a couple is less
drawn to call attention in his raids until it’s the moment to
strike, so he makes up his mind, and tells her about Immortals
       and the Game. He also gives her the ‘join me or die’ ultimatum;
from that moment on she starts helping him in his crimes.

England, 1315 – After heavy rain, and cool weather, even in
summer the Great Famine settles, Kronos gets sick and tired of
it and they leave England. After oven ten years of being with
Kronos, their relationship turns more business-like sort of
thing, he still makes her sleep with him occasionally, but
pursues other women most of the time, which Annie welcomes with
       a big sigh of relief.

France, 1316 – Living in Paris’ underworld Kronos gets hired by
some agents of Philip V to kill Louis X of France, so Annie
dresses up as a servant and manages to poison the king. Since
he’s done well, they hire him to kill the baby heir, Jean I.
Annie refuses to help him, he tortures her and threats her but
she doesn’t give in, killing a baby it’s her limit, so he has to
do it himself. When Philip V becomes king he begins to eliminate
the witnesses of his crimes, so Kronos and Annie leave to
central Europe before it’s their turn. After that Kronos always
joked that if he knew he’d start the Hundred Years’ War he would
have asked for a lot more money.

Central Europe, 1348 – As the Black Plague rages through Europe
again and again, so do Kronos and Annie. They raid the living
and the dead, sometimes they get a gang to help them but they
don’t last long being mortal, so they spend most of time alone.

Eastern Europe, 1466 – Annie and Kronos fight for the Teutonic
Knights as hired mercenaries in the Thirteen Years’ War. Annie
often has to disguise herself as a boy or a young man and Kronos
introduces her as his little brother, when peace is signed they
begin to raid on their own again.

Florence, 1476 – Kronos saves by accident Lucrezia de’ Medici
and her nannies from Saccheggiatores and is rewarded by her very
grateful father, Lorenzo de’ Medici, with a substantial amount
of money and the general’s rank. He becomes one of Lorenzo’s
favorite trouble solver, whether to uphold the law or eliminate
someone, and while Kronos plays with his poisons Annie gets
interested in art. When the Medicis go through financial
difficulties, they leave to Rome where they work briefly to
Cesare Borgia. After pope Alexander VI dies and things start to
get too hot for them, they leave and it’s raiding time again.

Portugal, 1526 – As African slave trade starts to profit in
Europe, Kronos is tempted to join the business, though Annie
hates the idea has no choice but to help him. In 1562 their
lucky runs out as they get hijacked by three ships commanded by
John Hawkins when they where traveling for Brazil, and lose all
the 300 slaves they were carrying. They try again and again get
robbed, Kronos is furious as he is used to be the robber not the
robbed, and gives up slave trade.

Spain, 1580 – Kronos is one of the highest regarded Inquisition
torturers, Annie being a woman is not doing much right now,
except playing the faithful wife. For the first time ever they
pose as a married couple just to be on the safe side, no more
sisters or other relative status that might rise suspicion.
Annie spends most of her time indoors, she avoids being seen in
public too much, so people won’t realize she’s not aging.

Central Europe, 1618 – They get involved in the Thirty Years’
War as hired mercenaries and even though Annie is getting too
tired of spilling blood over and over again, is glad she finally
has something to do other than being locked in a house or
raiding innocent people. She’s back at being Kronos’ ‘ little
       brother’.

Spain, 1670 – After being away for 70 years, to Annie’s dismay,
Kronos thinks it’s safe to return, and under a different name he
plays Inquisition torturer all over again and Annie is forced to
play the same role as before, she’s bored to death most of the
time but has no choice but to comply.

Central Europe, 1698 – Kronos and Annie raid through Europe
again, most of the time with a gang of mortal men. Kronos
doesn’t stand for her anymore when occasionally some try to rape
her nor does he have to, after all this time she has become
quite an efficient killer. So after she kills one or two the
rest realize she’s not an easy prey and peace settles again for
a while, until the next time someone has to be reminded.

France, 1775 – Kronos gets tired of raiding and killing, and
says he misses the court luxuries so they go to Paris. By 1789
he has reached Chef de Brigade in Garde du Corps and is getting
crazier every day. After following him around back and forth
through Europe for more than 4 centuries, Annie is sick and
tired of following his orders. The last straw comes when he
orders her to bring him young women, that she, knowing him too
much, knows he’s going to rape and murder. It’s not something
she could ever do, so while pretending to obey his orders,
starts looking for a way to escape. She gets her opportunity in
the French Revolution riots; she disguises herself, mixes up in
the raging mobs, and loses herself in the confusion.

Vienna, 1790 – After she runs from Kronos, she refuges herself
in a convent, when time passes and he still doesn’t show up,
she’s relieved. She starts believing she might have escaped him
like Methos, whom, as far as she knew, he could never find no
matter how much she’s seen him look. She dares leaving Holy
Ground, sells whatever jewels she managed to bring with her, and
is finally free to live on her own.

Scotland, 1810 – Even though it’s unsafe to return to Scotland,
Kronos might have had the same idea and is waiting for her
there, Annie is unable to stop herself. She has to see the place
where she used to live with her husband and his daughters. When
she gets there she can’t find anything that she might recognize,
not even the ruins of the house where she used to live, she then
realizes that Scotland has nothing for her anymore, just bad
memories. She never returns to Scotland again.

London, 1830 – Tired of running she settles to a quiet life
trying not to bring too much attention on herself, unfortunately
is spotted almost immediately by another Immortal who
underestimates her for being a woman. He challenges her, she
declines, he keeps insisting until she gets mad, fights him and
kills him. After the Quickening while she’s recovering, she
notices a man trying to slip, she realizes he’d seen the fight
and goes after him. He’s surprised as she grabs him, she notices
he has a round tattoo on his left wrist, and the man’s state of
nervousness only confirms he’d seen too much. He looks harmless
enough, so she hesitates between killing him and letting him go.
Finally she makes up her mind, she politely excuses herself and
explains to him that since she lives in secrecy can’t afford to
leave witnesses that had seen too much, and has no choice but to
kill him. The man panics as she pulls a dagger and is about to
kill him and babbles that he knows about Immortals, had always
known and a lot more people know about that. Now it’s Annie’s
turn to be surprised, and she pushes him to tell her more.
Realizing what he’s done the man tries to hold back, but she
hadn’t lived so many centuries with Kronos in vain, and quickly
intimidates the man to spill everything he knows. She then
learns about the Watchers, the more she hears the less she likes
it, but is unable to kill him when she finishes squeezing him.
She bumps him in the head and leaves England as quickly as
       possible.

Moscow, 1870 – After running away through Europe all over again,
this time not only from Kronos, but also from mortal Watchers,
and blaming herself for not having the guts to kill the man, she
gets to Russia where she feels far away enough to relax a
little. Her money is running out so she’s forced to steal not to
       starve to death.

St. Petersburg, 1895 – Under the name of Anya Petrovna she moves
town trying to find an honest job for a change, but she finds
nothing and is forced to go back to stealing, she realizes that
apart from killing and seducing men she doesn’t know anything,
she barely knows how to read and write and decides to change
that. But she soon forgets all her previous intentions when she
falls madly in love by a Russian revolutionary called Alexander
Ivanov. They literally bump into each other at a crossroad, both
running away from the police, and take the only escape route
possible together. Police stops them for questioning but they
pretend to be an innocent couple and manage to fool them. They
mutually feel attracted, and see each other often, after a brief
courtship he asks her to marry him. Annie is surprised by his
request, she has gotten used to trust him completely, to lie to
him is out of question and before even giving him an answer she
tells him about her immortality and that she’ll never give him
children, and that if he doesn’t what to marry her anymore
she’ll understand. At first he doesn’t believe her, but when she
cuts herself and he sees her heal before his eyes, he realizes
she’s telling the truth. He then surprises her by asking her to
marry him again, and after hesitating a little she agrees. They
       marry swiftly after that.

Vienna, 1905 – Things get too hot in St. Petersburg after the
Bloody Sunday, so they have to run away. One day Annie is
walking alone, and meets Sean Burns. He had studied psychology
there and is now starting to practice. Luckily they meet on Holy
Ground, and even though Annie keeps challenging him, he refuses
to fight her. That puzzles her, she thinks all Immortals are
bad, maybe not as bad as Kronos but close. She had never found
an Immortal that refused to fight her, so she thinks he’s
fooling her, and he’ll go after her when she leaves Holy Ground.
He tries to talk to her, but she’s not listening, she’s too
suspicious of him, she’s almost sure he’s acting and will try to
kill her. When she leaves Holy Ground he doesn’t, so she’s even
more puzzled than before. She’s really surprised, that had never
happened to her before, she doesn’t understand it, and she hates
not to understand something. They meet again this time outside
Holy Ground, but he still doesn’t attack her, so she realizes he
might be telling the truth, as for her she’s sick and tired of
fighting, has no wish to take his head, so she walks away. Next
time they meet, she can’t take it anymore, she has to know the
reason why he’s different from all the other Immortals she’d
known, she walks over to him and asks him why he doesn’t want to
kill her. That’s when they really start talking to each other.
By 1908, everything is still calm in Russia, so Annie and her
husband move back to St. Petersburg again.

St. Petersburg, 1917 – After 20 years of being happily married,
her husband starts to worry about her safety even though he
knows she’s an Immortal, or perhaps because of that. He knows
revolution is near, things might turn out bad, and wants her to
get out of Russia before that. He sends her away by the Baltic
Sea, and although Annie begs him to come with her, he says he’s
not too old to do his job.

England, 1919 – Annie finds out that her husband is dead and is
devastated. Post World War I Europe depresses her, and she
travels to the United States to try a new life. She wanders for
a while but finally settles in New York.

New York City, 1930 – Too tired of mourning her dead husband,
Annie looks for something to do and resumes her previous
intention of studying, she had managed to learn to write and
read quite well, but wants to learn more. She buys some
elementary schools books and keeps reading them at night while
during the day works as a waitress.

San Francisco, 1962 – An overconfident passing Immortal has the
bad idea of challenging Annie while she’s studying at Berkeley,
and even though it’s been years since she had a real sword
fight, she’s been practicing every day so she defeats him pretty
       easily.

Vienna, 1980 – Goes back to Europe, and while visiting her first
refuge after she ran away from Kronos finds it abandoned and out
for sale. She buys it the same day, and hires someone to restore
it and make it a home, after 6 centuries she finally has a place
       to return to.

New York City, 1994 – A mortal twice her size tries to rape her
when she wanders around one night, she repels him, so he pulls a
knife and tries to stab her. She quickly grabs the knife and
they fight hand-to-hand until she accidentally stabs him in the
heart killing him immediately. Unfortunately the police choose
that time to turn up, catching her with a bloodied knife in her
hands, they arrest her for murder. After trial Annie gets
sentenced to 10 years for manslaughter, the women in the jury
disliked her, and carrying a concealed sword didn’t help her
case either. She appeals and gets her sentence reduced to 6
years, since her attacker had a record for rape. She is doing
her sentence when Kronos show up for a visit. Annie is so
shocked of ever seeing him again, she freezes for a while.
Kronos is not pleased that she ran away from him and threats to
kill her when she gets out of jail. He’s also in a bragging
mood, and Annie knowing him pretty well, gets him to tell her
how he found her. He then explains that he caught a Watcher and
tortured her until she told him anything he wanted to know. He
gets ready to leave, and threatens her once more, says he’s on
his way to Seacouver but will make sure he’ll be here to greet
her when she gets out of prison. He then realizes he might have
talked too much, and shuts up abruptly. Before he leaves he just
gives her his creepy smile that is even more threatening than
his words. When he leaves Annie curses every Watcher in the
planet, why couldn’t they mind their own business, curses
herself for not killing the Watcher she found in London all
those years ago. But it’s too late to do anything except wait.

New York City, 2001 – Annie gets out of prison and is surprised
not to meet Kronos right there waiting for her. It’s impossible
he had forgot his revenge, so she suspects he’s toying with her,
but still she flees the country and goes to Europe. She goes
from city to city for a while, trying to draw him out, but sees
no evidence he’s following her, so she finally goes to her
       refuge in Vienna.

Vienna, 2007 – Annie practices out daily to get in top form,
after 6 years of jail time, but is unable to find peace of mind.
She keeps thinking about Kronos, and is getting more and more
puzzled about his behavior. Anywhere she goes she keeps looking
over her shoulder, then the day comes when she makes a desperate
resolution, maybe a suicidal one but she has to know, she can’t
live in doubt for the rest of her life, and she can’t take it
anymore. Kronos mentioned he was going to Seacouver, so she is
going there and find out what’s going on.
