       Maybe this can help a lot of noobs..
       As I am admittedly a noob myself (a little over 1yr in
       firearms), I have read tons of Hi-Point haters going on about
       how they malfunction. Well here's a little news flash. From my
       personal experience, every gun I own has had a couple of hiccups
       straight out the box. At least 1 of the above mentioned
       malfunctions. But I didn't panic. I just kept loading mags. No
       more than 5 mags in (and I only practice with 5 rounds at a
       time) all malfunctions seemed to disappear. The moral of this
       story? Don't buy a new gun and depend on it to protect you
       without adequate testing, training, and break-in period. Seems
       pretty obvious to me, but in this age of instant point and click
       results, patience has seemed to be overlooked.

       Great tip!
       I have also found that squirting a little lube in the mag &
       leaving it 3/4 loaded for a week or so before shooting will help
       a lot of issues also!

       Yes sir another great tip.. I load mags at least half full and
       let them sit. I've not had any issues since my above described
       'break in'
