I can say that I have NOT been waiting for this?
I can NOT say that at last, HP finally got in the game with
everybody else by building a 10MM Carbine?
I can say, I told you so!!!
I actually joined a 10mm Fan Club page last month when I 1st
heard of this breaking news. I didn't get a very positive
reception either?

Thanks for the ADD!
I will admit that I have "0" knowledge about the 10mm round. In
fact, I only know 1 person that owns a 10mm handgun.
BUT, I recently heard a rumor that Hi Point may be releasing a
10mm handgun & a 10mm carbine. Now that has my attention, since
I may be the BIGGEST Hi Point fan in the world!
And now you know the rest of the story?

I'm with you in regards to knowledge about the 10mm round.
But after that announcement yesterday, I started researching it.
I'm very intrigued by this round. Quite impressive, especially
if the carbine can handle the full loads, and not the lesser
ones.

I'll admit I wasn't overjoyed to hear about a 10mm carbine
coming out UNTIL, I started reading that it's actually the
parent cartridge of the 40S&W.
Now you have my attention as I was looking for a 40 HPTS model
to go with my 40JCP, as I was gonna use the carbine for hunting
due to its more compact size, good velocity and bullet weight in
heavy timber/brushy areas.
I start reading and find that the 10mm is what I consider the
longer, lite-magnum version of the 40S&W. Who wouldn't be happy
knowing you can get a mild magnum version of your favorite
pistol? A pistol cartridge in a longer barrel which gives great
"get up and zing" velocities, better than good penetration
capability and option of heavier bullet weights that go into the
200gr class.
Everything I've found about the 10mm just says it's better than
either the 40 or 45 caliber. At least for my purposes.
I can't wait for the 10mm now. Sign me up.

I heard about MoM coming out with a new caliber gun over a month
ago. So I joined the FB page 10mm Fan. They were not very
friendly to a HP Nut joining their page talking about a "JUNK"
Hi Point 10mm, Blasphemy, I think they said? lol
One thing for sure, there will be more people looking for the
10mm ammo in the store, but it sounds like 75% of 10mm shooters
reload? I guess they think of themselves as "elitist",
"marksmen" above the rest of the normal gun guy's?
I'm glad to see HP expanding their menu a little, not just
sitting around waiting for the ball to drop!

I seriously want to get one of these as a home defense/SHTF gun,
especially if Red Ball comes out with an extended mag

Consider the 10mm as the .40 Magnum. As the requirement for FBI
agents size and weight was reduced to allow women and men of
lesser stature into the service the .45 proved to be too much
recoil for them. The tapped S&W to come up with a new caliber
and the 10mm was first. It was tested by the FBI but found to
still be too much recoil for the new agents so they cut it down
to the .40 S&W so long as it made the penetration requirements.
