Having read all the HP Pistol complaints on facebook, I thought
this section would be flooded with responses?

The only problem I have had with my JCP 40 was a FTF issue. Easy
fix though, I polished the feed ramp. No more problem. :)

You must have an older JCP?
John Cole told me that Iberia Arms has been sending out polished
feed ramps on all their guns for over 2 years now.

Not sure, the PO said he bought it new in 2015. It may have been
a little older model that had been sitting on the shelf for a
while. Is there any way to tell it's manufacture date by the
serial number?

I bought my 40 brand new. Both sides of the feed ramp were black
and 'charred' looking. Center was silver and smooth. I didn't
notice this till after I ran a couple mags thru, but I can't
imagine 10 rds caused such build up.. Any ideas?

When I first got my 40JCP, when I shot, sometimes the slide
wouldn't chamber the round all the way into battery. My JCP was
an earlier model of around 2010 that had painted ramps, so what
was happening was the cartridges had sharp neck edges and would
get caught in the paint going up the ramp and slow down the
cartridge enough that the slide wouldn't go fully into battery
unless I gave it a wrist flick.
I tore down the gun and did an aggressive feed ramp polish and
rounded the top of feed ramp where the ramp squares off going
into the chamber. I now have a great shooting JCP that I
wouldn't be afraid to use for protection.

Thanks for posting, I'm sure this will help some new owners of
the older models!
