       Silencing Your Inner Critic

How do you silence the voice in your head that keeps criticising
and giving out to yourself? That voice that tells you everything
that's wrong with you and why you'll never be any different.
Can you start treating this voice like a third party? So watch
your thoughts as they come up, be aware of them, and take a step
back from them. These horrible thoughts only have as much power
as you give them. You don't have to start fighting them- that
only gives them more power, as you're feeding then then. Just
witness the thoughts, and visualise yourself taking a step back
from them. Then they do not have as much power over you.
       Here's a tip:
Imagine if you had a friend who talked to you the same way you
talk to yourself? Start talking to yourself as you would talk to
       a friend.

I've started noticing how much I criticise myself, for
everything, that voice inside my head that tells me, "you can't
do it," "you aren't worth it," and "you don't deserve it." Never
realise dbefore how powerful it is. Something I want to work
       on...

       Hi,
I remind myself to be more of a friend to myself. It's a more
gentle approach instead of beating myself up. I'm starting to
step back more from that inner critic, and turn down the volume.
       Feels good!

Definitely getting better at ignoring the voice that tells me
that "nothing is really going to change this time". I can really
see now how that voices only encourages me to eat more. I making
an effort to remind myself that "I'm doing my best" etc. Does
anyone use post-its or visual reminders. I've stuck one on the
kettle and in my car to remind myself to pause and slow down.
       Definitely helps!
