       Mindless picking & grazing

Mindless and unconscious eating can add up to a whole lot of
extra eating. What are your mindless eating habits? One of mine
was grabbing a handful of biscuits almost every time I walked
from the kitchen to the sitting room. To be more mindful, I
stuck a piece of paper on the inside of the biscuit cupboard
with the questions, "Am I really hungry? Is this the best way to
       care for myself right now?"

I've begun to notice that while I'm preparing food, I'm also
picking at it. Like yesterday, when the dinner was cooking I
must have sampled and picked at about a plate full of it. I
wasn't really hungry for dinner then but still ate it, and
       didn't even taste it.
I'm going to try and pause and consciously remind myself "no,
you can eat when dinner is ready". Will keep you posted!! J

I like the advice on the online program to refuse food when not
hungry. It's so simple but I find its good for mindless eating
and picking especially during the day.

It's amazing how much less I eat when I cut out all of the
in-between eating. I used to sort of float though the evening
picking bits here and there, especially while making the kids
lunches. It's such a different feeling when I'm aware and just
decide "OK, don't need to eat this".
