The New Beginnings of The New Year.
By: Overlordnim Date: May 19, 2013, 2:29 am
---------------------------------------------------------
It has been a long time, and our heros have been through much in
the time of five years... The group traveled to the south,
making their way past the Forests of Ursidae, and funny enough,
by passing the Wald. They went to the grassy hills, on the other
side of the valley, where Talia hoped they would wait, and they
did, making a camp, there, for two weeks, as the two true heros
returned, Eilik, and Derius... Xon stayed waiting, his brother
never did return, and soon after three months of waiting, he
couldn't do it any longer, and left to search them out.
Mean while, many years past, three, before Xon returned empty
handed. But he was welcomed back by Talia and Eilik. The
children, were trained, daily and nightly, Marci took much
training from Alvar, and Eilik.. Taru from Derius, and Ventus,
took a hard mixture of Talia and Eilik themselves, Eilik trained
him in moves of sword play, and Talia helped him learn the many
schools of magic. Marci learned to be one with the shadows
around her, and discovered many of her own abilities when she
became mature. Still the years went on, Taru learned from Derius
how to do many things, the main thing was how to be tough. And
tough she was, through the many beatings she gave out to Marci
in their nightly spars....
Finally, we come to the present day.. The group would be deep
within a plain land, it seems there were many of those left in
the world, this one went from forests, to plains, up to plains
and grassy mountains, the group set up a home base, or rather
just made a home for themselves in the middle of the grass
lands, they had a little cabin built, and tents were set up out
side of it, the cabin had two rooms, with three beds each, it
was funny over the years, there were many nights Talia and Eilik
probably slept in different beds, or slept at different times,
but there was that once in a while, they got to cuddle. Nina
slept in the same room, and most likely Ventus, unless he wanted
to twitch it up, and sleep with the girls, which probably most
mornings, or nights he would wake up dog piled on by Taru and
Marci.. In which Alvar probably dragged Marci off else where...
There was a coffin in the main hall of the little cabin, for
Alvar himself to sleep away from the sun, perhaps even Marci
crawled in it somedays..
The group were well off, things were at peace, and they were
left be, to live out happy days... Until now. No doubt.

It was early evening, and Nina was out stoking a fire up in the
stone fire pit, it was a habit now, make a fire for night light,
when everyone woke. The evening was lighting up with stars, and
the moon was starting to rise, dusk. That point when the sun was
going down, and the moon was coming up... A beautiful time of
day.

Eilik would likely be last to wake, so noone should expect him
quite yet.
Ventus would likely rush out of the cabin, dark blue cloak
draped over his shoulders he pushes his glasses upon his nose,
"Nina! Have you seen that book Talia and Alvar told me to read?
I...seem to have misplaced it..." The boy had obviously grown
within the past five years, he stood still, relatively short
only about five feet eight, though it was apparent he had gotten
more sun, he wasn't as pale as he used to be, though still,
mainly living during the night due to the time most people were
awake he had only a light tan. His grey eyes were now a shade of
pale green, the hues changing color as he aged, though it was
barely noticeable. Obviously he had gotten worse in the eyesight
department as a pair of glasses rests upon his nose, thin
frames, ones that would be light and wouldn't be to cumbersome
would be tucked into his black, and in certain light, almost
dark bluish colored hair, that was always kept nice and neat
into that ponytail. His build well, he was still scrawny, no
matter how much he ate, nor how much anyone told him to eat.
Though it would be well known he did not skip a meal, and was
one of the first to be asking for seconds. His voice had
deepened a few tones, it no longer carried the high-pitched
kiddy sound, though still just as much eagerness.

Alvar would be in a far off corner, leaning against a table as
he watches Nina work on a fire. While many of the people within
this home were up during the day, a lot of them were around
during the night as well. The vampire had not aged even the
slightest in the passing years, apparent from the faint
flickering upon the fire across his pale face, amber eyes
gleaming as he continues to just watch Nina... All creeper-like.
His hair had been cut though, no longer so drastically dragging
upon the ground when let down... it had been cut short enough
that he, or anyone else for that matter, could run their fingers
through it without any tangles! He had even managed to get his
hoodie and sweatpants clean some time ago... even had an extra
pair of them floating around when he needed them. Though someone
had suggest he should dress 'like a vampire' should, he was
dressing like a vampire should, from his day and age! He had
eaten a lot more, he now was not nearly as brittle or anything,
looked much less sickly and much more like a suitable vampire
should. A smirk comes across the mans face though as he sees
Ventus appear, asking for a book he had been told to read. He
just lightly shakes his head as he melds back into the shadows,
hidden from sight yet again!
Taru would be outside most-likely, the 'little bear' no longer
so little. She had grown massively in size within the past few
years. She could easily stand taller than anyone within the
house on her hind-legs, her dark fur had slowly started to
change color from black to slightly brighter shades of rich,
earthern browns and wood-like colors. Her claws were sharp
naturally, her fangs well taken care of, she looked like a
monster compared to other bears already... But it was easy to
tell she was still a child at heart. She was playful, often
following Ventus around while he studied, somehow making it
around the building without knocking things over or scratching
the floor. Her eyes were sharp, as green as the grass that grew
outside around her most common sleeping place. Though this
friendly bear was bound and roped with muscle, she could take a
hit, or several. Training with Derius had improved that since
she was small, even though he was a bit slower these days than
usual!
Derius would be sleeping soundly in his bed, snuggled into
blankets and pillows with the imp and a pair of neon pink
flipflops with lights that flashed more pink. He kept the imp
and his precious flipflops close to him, precious things he
could still hold. Though he got up and moved around a lot, he
also ate a Phuckton. And slept like the dead. He had long since
stopped changing shape after his last search for his Circilte,
the act just a bit to damaging to his body with all of the
unstable magic slowly starting to eat away at him. He looked
like he had aged quite a bit, some grey being able to be spotted
in his dark red hair, a faint sagging under his usually
tired-seeming eyes. He might have looked like a teen when they
had all met, but now he looked to be nearly in his late
twenties. With him, it was hard to tell, but it was easy to tell
he was much older than that.

Nina was working the fire neatly, before sitting back a bit, she
was dressed in a long knee length dark green skirt, and a long
flowing white linen shirt, her hair was actually cut, it hung
down just to her shoulders, rather neatly combed and everything,
her gray blue eyes peered into the fire, as the sky got darker,
she would look up, seeing Ventus, "Going to Study already? I
haven't seen you all day.... Mm.. That book should have been on
your bed.... Or on the table... If it's not there, i don't know
where it could be.." she offered him a soft shrug, her voice had
grown a bit stronger, but it was still that soft sweet tone, she
looked up, and glanced off toward Alvar, she watched him go from
a brittle old man, to... well.. a rather strapping young one..
She knew he was a vampire, but she never understood how vampires
could change so much... It kind of freaked her out! But she
still liked Alvar..... As a friend....
As Ventus would be looking for his book, not to far away in a
tree, the tree that was standing rather close to the campe
front, it over looked the fire, on a long branch would be
sitting Marci, and she has truly grown, she had grown into a
fatching young woman, but all vampires turned this way sooner or
later, all of them, born to the name, were pretty, and
unmortally strong. And Marci lived up to the name, she had
speed, strength, and intelligence, and what do you know, she
held Ventus's book, she had a leg hanging off the branch, even
though she was in the shadow of the tree, she could be seen, by
the light of the camp fire, her eyes were glowing that true ice
blue, which made her pale flesh light up, her long ebony hair
was put up in a ponytail, and had been cut for a few years now,
no longer the length of feralness as it was when she was a
child. She would be humming, as she flipped through the old
pages of the spell book, though it was likely she wasn't good at
that magic stuff like Ventus, she still loved to tease him by
stealing his books everyonce in a while... And she had learned
some stuff from them.

Ventus would catch that familiar blue glow, peering up into the
tree he would huff, "Marci! C'mon, haven't you gotten too old
for those kinds of tricks?" The boy would huff, before giving a
waggle of his finger, eyes glowing that silver color behind his
glasses. If she wasn't holding onto it that hard she'd feel it
start to tug away from her, if she was, well, she may be pulled
off the branch as well. He would glance to Nina, "I've been
sleeping during the day Miss Nina...since most of the house
wakes up at night figured it was the best way to get things
done."
Eilik would come bursting out of the door, red eyes wide. to be
honest, he didn't look different whatsoever. Though, his skin
was a lot darker thanks to the amount of light that he had been
hit with five years ago, and if anyone inspected him closely he
had that very subtle 'scarred' appearance, that he could not
just get rid of. He peers around, "Has anyone seen Kei, Talia's
threatening me with opening the blinds again! I don't think
she's adjusted to how fast she's grown yet?" He would be nearly
flailing, peering around, trying to look into the wooded area.
The little girl would actually be sitting on the roof, her legs
crossed under her, she was rather short, her shoulder-length
hair as red as her mothers, streaked with black. It was natural,
anyone who had seen her from birth would know. She had two small
horns on top of her head that stuck out of her nicely kept hair,
clearly another birthright from her mother. Her eyes were a
crimson red, skin a dark grey color. She wore a black skirt, and
a nice white dress shirt. A black vest was worn over the button
up shirt and she even wore a red bow under the collar. She would
be chuckling a bit at her father as her tail waved at Nina,
before picking up an apple that was laying in her lap. She would
take a bite from it before her gaze shifted back to the other
kids, she seemed to study them a bit. Hrm...how to be normal?

Taru would still be nowhere to be found, likely still sleeping
snuggled up against the side of the house, on her back, paws in
the air as she snores softly. She looks quite content though
like this, what appears to be a book snuggled under one of her
massive clawed paws...
Derius would still be passed out like a light, the imp hugging
onto the side of his head. "Nn..nnmmm... Ugh..." He mutters out
a bit painfully, his stomach letting out a loud rumble of
hunger, as he usually was these days. He could easily eat enough
for everyone in the house currently and still be hungry and
tired. Slowly he rolls over, the imp promptly poofing to the
other side of his head to avoid being squished!
Alvar would stalk around, watching people go about their
business. Then he just kind of appears near Ventus, Marci, and
Nina. "So, Ventus... How is that book coming along?" His hands
are behind his back, leaning over a bit with a brow quirked
curiously down at the young male.

Marci would not just be pulled from the branch.. She was
snatched from that shit, and she landed on the ground with a
thud, and an 'oof'.. she quickly pushed herself up, and dusted
herself off, ".... They're not childish.. They are fun to do!"
she smiled, her voice was a bit deeper as well. "Now!" she waved
the book around, "I will give it back! if you let me do it!" she
bounced a bit on her feet, the 'it' she was referring to was,
well.. she asked to do it daily after they went on the road, it
was her costume, after seeing Ventus close to a burnt crispy
death, of leaning in, and giving him a peck on the side of his
neck where she first bit him. Most of the time, she had to sneak
it when he was sleeping, or when he was busy, but today she was
feeling bold! AND SHE HAD HIS BOOK MWHAHAHAHAH.
Nina blinked at Eilik as he came storming out, waving a hand
dismissively, "Calm down, my lord..." she still referred to
people like that after five years.... It was old habit. "She is
on the roof, i think she has been sitting there for a good few
minutes, but i maybe mistaken." she offered a smile to him.

Ventus would grumble, peering to Alvar, before back to Marci. He
grumbles, "It would be finished if I coulda found it when I woke
up, Sir." He would peer up at one of his mentors, gulping just a
bit. yeah, Alvar intimidated him a little bit. Though he had
grown to have a backbone in front of him. and to be honest, he
kind've enjoyed the vampire's presence.
Eilik would blink, before walking out the door fully, letting it
close behind him. He would peer up at the roof, what he saw, was
Kei waving a hand at him. He lets out a sigh, "Cmon Kei, your
mother was worried when she didn't find you in your room. You
know it's about time to go hunt." the girl would stick her
tongue out, "But father, there's barely anything that tastes
right." The umbrakin gives her that look, raising an eyebrow,
"Get down here, you know what kind of food I'm talking about."
Yup, they would've been talking about it for a few months now,
Kei would be about the age that normal food just wouldn't
sustain her much longer, she was going to have to partake in
Eilik's hunting activities, and she had known it.
The girl huffs before hopping off the roof, her tail giving a
flick before her half-eaten apple was tossed into the campfire,
causing the smell of roasted apples to waft through the air
before her long tail slid back up her skirt, likely wrapping
around her waist. She huffs before Eilik would rustle her hair.
"You better go tell your mother that you had just slipped out
your window. You know how she gets when you slip out to watch a
sunset." The girl would huff, it was true, had anyone looked
earlier they would've seen the familiar steam rolling off the
girl's head and arms before it grew darker. She mutters a
"Fine." Before slipping inside, in search of her mother.
Ventus would sniff the air, before peering around, his stomach
growling, "What's that?" He would ask as he clearly was hungry
after waking up, this was not a new thing, and after Derius and
Taru of course, the young man was always at a go for food.

Alvar slowly lifts a hand to lightly rub it down his face. So
many children, so much chaos. It was something he recalled so
faintly, yet felt so fondly about. With a light shake of his
head towards Eilik, slowly turning his gaze to Ventus. "That is
your fault for not putting a guard upon your books." Though his
gaze moves to Marci, one brow quirking up as he lets out a soft
sigh, slowly reaching a hand from behind himself and extends it
out towards Marci, lightly wiggling his fingers as an indication
of her to give him the book. A faint smile would be across his
lips, it was night, meaning it was time to hunt soon anyhow.
Though he might stay back to night and make sure Ventus gets to
reading this book. One night would not bother him in the
slightest, it never did. He was far to fond of Ventus anymore to
be angry at him for long, anyhow.
Derius would be slowly starting to stir form his slumber, the
imp stretching out with a bit of a yawn. He remains holding onto
the side of Derius' head as the man slowly pushes himself up,
lightly wiggling his toes as they touch the ground. He looked
utterly exhausted though he had been asleep since the previous
morning. Now, it was just something normal that he did, now that
they had stopped and had a home away from the castle. He loved
things like this, so peaceful and carefree. He probably could
bare to stay awake longer though, but he found it hard to do
with nothing to really hold his interests these days aside from
the occasional spar with Taru to make sure she was still in
shape. The bear had only gotten faster and stronger this past
month, he could hardly keep up with her anymore. Hell, she even
had to go out and hunt for him and herself to be sure they even
had enough food to feed their appetites! He lightly shakes his
head, the imp having moved to his shoulder. Slowly he pushes up
off of his bed of mostly fluff, silently shuffling along at a
slow pace, his stomach rumbling loudly as he moves down the
hall.
Taru would still be passed out like a log, not having even
twitched an ear at all the commotion going on around her. She
keeps the book snuggled to herself like a small, tiny teddy
bear!
