The woman turned, quickly following him down the stairs, and
soon down the latter, she reached the ground, and leaned down as
if to pull the latter back up to where it was. The pistol still
on safety and in her one pocket, it was something she didn't
intend to use unless she had no choice either. Her small
survival knife was in her other pocket, and it was well used.
She stood up as she lifted the latter, looking to him, she
stayed silent as he did, waiting for him to move, her eyes idly
glancing back and forth down the dark alleyways.

He would nod, before bolting off in a direction, not too fast,
he didn't want to wear either of them out. Exhaustion, not very
good when you have things that don't tire on your ass. He would
eventually slow to a walk as they moved through quiet alleys, it
would be apparent that most of the creatures around had
dissipated, there was the sound of banging off in the distance.
The man swallowed heavily, he had a feeling it was where they
were going, and frankly, he didn't like the sound of it.
About fifteen minutes later they wind up in a small strip mall
parking lot, getting closer to what appeared to be a small
deserted convenience store, would be deserted, if it weren't for
the fifteen creatures banging on the window. He would freeze,
getting second guesses about the idea until it clicked in his
head, they normally didn't beat on doors unless something was
alive in there, and that meant another living person. His heart
skipped a beat as he would peer back to the woman, shaking his
head, well, what was the harm in attempting a rescue? All of it,
the hero in this situation never makes it out. Again, heavy
swallowing, though he had no liquid to swallow, his mouth having
dried out long before from running around. He would walk at a
brisker pace, heading toward the back of the building. Most of
the cluster seemed to want at the windows, and there always were
back doors used for shipments.
As they grew closer he would press a finger against his lips,
tightening one hand on the bat as he flicked what was left of
the cigarette away. Eventually he would press against the door,
"Keep a look out." He would whisper before tapping the tip of
the bat against the metal door. Tap. Tap. Tap. Stopping he would
lower the bat, if someone was inside hopefully they'd think that
perhaps a sound that doesn't repeat could be worth
investigating, and he really didn't want to risk yelling over
the creatures.

She blinks. Through the sounds of the growling and groaning, she
heard it. A tapping noise. It didnt sound like the monsters
outside, not even in the slightest. She did not know why, but it
just sounded... to human. Far to human. She had been listening
to these monsters for a while now, none of the sounds they had
made had never sounded like that, ever. Slowly, the tears stop
rolling down her now red cheeks, she had something else to focus
on. Carefully and quietly as possible, she pushes herself up and
out from under the counter, grabbing the crowbar from the
counter as she presses a button under the counter. The door to
the cage would pop open silently. She grips the crowbar as she
slowly starts to make her way towards the backdoor, reaching
into the pocket of her jeans to pull out the key that held it
shut tightly.
Despite the monsters on just the other side of the small
building, she knew this could as well be more of them. Its not
like anyone else was in here to keep safe, or she would not even
consider going back to the door to check... It was a bad idea,
she thought. She could possibly die here, or worse, turn into
one of them. With that thought in mind, she clutches the crowbar
tightly in her hand with the key in the other. She moves
silently across the tile floor, tennis shoes not making even a
squeak. She carefully tucks the crowbar under one arm, extending
the key to the door to unlock the door. She does so, then the
key slips right from her hand and smacks onto the tile floor
with a soft jingle. "Shit." She whispers quite loudly dropping
down to grab the key as she looks up expectantly at the door. It
is likely someone on the other side of it might have heard the
door clicking while it unlocked... She backed away while shoving
the key back into her pocket, raising her crowbar in ready....

The ebony headed woman followed the boy closely, almost on his
heels, and she was just as silent, if not a little more. She
pulled the knife from her pocket, and held it tight in her right
hand, she turned her back to him as he would rap on the back
door, her eyes scanning the street way, her teeth biting into
her lower lip. She glanced back only as she heard the door
click, peering toward the man in question, before giving a few
more glances to the street, none of the ghouls have noticed them
just yet it seems. All still pounding on the front glass.

None had notice, that is, until the drop of the keys, in which
there would be a few grunts as some of the shamblers would draw
their attention toward the back. He would let out a sigh before
opening the door quickly, slipping inside, not quite turning
around as he held the door open a crack for her to get in. Well,
at least it was someone smart enough to unlock a locked door. It
wasn't one of those creatures.

Slowly she takes a step back as a man slips through the door, he
held it open, assuming he had another with him! But she
continues to step back slowly, jaw firmly set as she waits for
the newcomers to enter, already pulling the key out of her
pocket again to re-lock the door. She was not taking any chances
just because more people where here. How did they know she was
here? Was it the monsters outside...? It had to be, she thought.
No one else would have known she was even there. Slowly she
moves a bit closer, key in hand already with her crowbar under
her other arm. The young woman, despite obviously needing a
shower, covered in blood and dirt, looked relieved to see
others....

The woman's eyes widened, seeing a few shamblers start their
ways over, the minute the man entered the building, she flew in
behind him, closing the door quickly, but quietly, turning to
look into the shadows of the room for the girl, gesturing to the
door, "Lock it. Hurry.." she whispered, her voice was soft,
offering some comfort, as she held the door closed just in case,
her knife still in her one hand.
She turned her eyes back to glance at the man, and then to the
rest of the building, it seemed dark, like anywhere else.. And
that banging on the front windows... All that banging, it
started to bring back that pounding in her head, "Ugh..." she
murmured to herself, reaching a hand up to hold her head, as she
pushed her shoulder against the door.

The man was already searching through shelves, tossing a bottle
of ibuprofen at her. He would mutter to himself as he searched,
if someone listened hard enough they may hear the faint sounds
of music inderneath all the moaning and rattling. So that was
how he was ignoring the sound, earbuds would be set inside his
ears. He would sigh, peering to the new girl, "We need shit easy
to carry, but only things that absolutely are needed." He would
state, before walking to the counter, where all places had held
their tobacco products. He reached under, grabbing a few cartons
before stuffing them in his bags, he would grab a single pack,
ripping the top open as he would jam a stick in his mouth, hwile
he's at it he grabs a few extra lighters, you never know when
you're going to need fire.

"Erm. I... Uhm." She would stop, just staring at the two of them
for a few moments, confused for a split second. "There are two
backpacks we have under the counter. They are filled with some
empty bags, but we can empty them out and fill them with stuff
needed. There is water in the back in the freezers. And there
are tons of various snack foods around here. I would not touch
anything in the fourth isle aside from the very back, most of it
is covered with blood." Slowly she motions towards the front
doors and windows that are painted black and chained up well.
"They cant get through that quite yet... it is reinforced glass
and the frame is quite sturdy. It is safe to go near the door,
but I don't suggest it." As she says this in a rather soft,
hushed tone, she finds herself already behind the counter,
opening one of the cupboards and pulling out the two backpacks.
They were school backpacks, new looking with a lot of space,
minus all the clinking material that usually comes with them.
She was not much of a leader, but a great follower. "We have one
gun, but it only has two shots, though I dont think it will be
much help with this aside from causing an unneeded amount of
noise. But there are tuns of blunt objects, we have a few more
crowbars in the back, a metal bat, and a few other things. When
was the last time you two got any sleep?" She was so much calmer
now that there were other people around. No, she did not know
them, or even their names, or how they acted or what they were
like... but they were other people!

The woman caught the bottle, drugs.. wonderful. She walked over
toward where the girl was, her voice was low out of habit..
"Mm... About.. Two days.. Throw me one of those bags, i'll go
get water in one.. It will be something we need ontop of
food..." she watched as the man filled his bag with cartons of
tobacco, she figured it was something he would do, seeing as she
saw him smoke his last one a few moments ago.
As soon as she got hold of the bag, she would turn on her heel,
and head toward the back, opening one of the freezers, and
grabbing a water, popping it open, she took a long drink,
something she needed. Before opening the pill bottle, which, she
was guessing it was something else she needed, one for now, she
didn't know a whole lot about meds not as much as she should to
know how much to take. She swallowed the pill whole with a drink
of water coming right behind it. After she wiped her mouth, and
started to fill the bag with water bottles, glancing around for
anything else they may need.
