The Svarr (General)
By: Eilik Date: February 1, 2013, 5:24 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
The Svarr are a race of genetically and cybernetic-ally modified
giant praying-mantis like creatures. They have chameleon-like
skin, large, bulbous, opalescent eyes that allow them to see in
any light level, beaks designed to rip through flesh, and an
assortment of attachments to their fore-arms. (These range from
standard rotary saw blades all the way up to high-density laser
weapons.)
Intelligence: Hive-mind (A solitary Svarr will act like a
simple animal, only seeking food and survival instincts. The
larger the group, the more intelligence will show. Records have
indicated a group of about fifty actually chatting to their prey
before ripping them to shreds. Larger groups have not been
reported but are thought to exist, especially in
high-technological areas as these creatures are used in a
variety of applications ranging from simple security to
blitzkrieg style armies.)
Defense: Little to none, they're more designed for ambushing or
out-numbering their prey so there was little need to increase
natural defenses.
Offense: Already mentioned modified limbs, also as a mechanism
if they're used as security they will not normally attack unless
someone or something stares into their large eyes, which are not
hidden by their camouflaging abilities.
Location: General (Can be found almost anywhere in the system of
Pyris, however Raggnia, beng limited in technology, isolated,
and not really needed by any except a force recently appearing,
has seen hardly any of these beings. Normally they are only told
as tales to keep children off the street at night, though there
has been no recording of Svarr on Raggnia until the Xeven
incident.)
