[move]***** SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING LACK OF
ACTIVITY*****[/move]
Some recent events have called for some updates to how the
warning systems works for lack of activity.
This is the current rule (#2 to be exact) for inactivity in the
Game Play Rules thread:
2. If you have to be away for a while, let someone on
staff know. It helps us to know if you are gone for a legit
reason, and we can give a temporary reserve to your characters,
or someone can cover for you until you return. If we don’t
get some kind of notice that you will be gone for a while, it is
likely we will assume that you quit, and your character(s) will
be released.
We have been very casual with this rule, and will likely remain
so. Please keep Sam, Pat or Thurl in the know if your activity
will be nothing for more than 3 days consecutively.
This is a slightly updated version as I just gave it a facelift,
and I see no reason to change this part further. Presently, we
do have a warning system in place for this rule. (Also as noted
in the Game Play Rules thread)-
For Warnings concerning Inactiveness, there are three stages:
First, A soft warning via PM. Basically a friendly reminder to
get active.
Second, you will get a firm warning with an amount of time to
post in before you get to the third stage.
Third, your character(s) is terminated.
This too shall not be changed since its works and is fair for
those who have kept the Staff/CEOs in the know, or for the
casual slip ups.
The changes that are being made, are for the scenario that a
player has dropped off the face of the earth with no warning to
a staff member, or CEO, and caused havoc in the current story
lines affecting other players including Staff and CEOs or
otherwise causing problems for upcoming shows or Pay per views.
Our tolerance for this has been far too lax, and so now
it’s time to tighten things up significantly.
This will be the new warning system for this specific scenario
going forward:
Phase One: If you go without posting for a significant amount of
time, it will be noticed, and you will be sent polite PMs via
here or Facebook. (Note: We are generally nice about this so
long as we get a response from you explaining things, and have
been known to say take the time you need. The "unspoken" Golden
rule around here is that Real Life comes first, and we
respect that.)
Phase Two: If those go ignored, there will be a final (and Only)
warning issued via the Forums to get it in gear within a given
time frame. Should that not get your attention, then..
Phase Three: Your current storylines for all your characters
will be dropped at the end of the above mentioned time frame.
The CEOs and GMs will make every effort to make it up to the
players effected by this, other than yourself, as well as making
sure any effected show or Pay per view is corrected to keep its
momentum going. Depending on the severity of the effect on the
game, players, and any up coming shows/Pay Per Views so too will
it be a severity on the punishment received.
This means that it can be anything from having your characters
immediately released, and you being restricted to posting in non
game play areas only for awhile, to having your HCW login/IP
address banned temporarily or even permanently if severe enough.
Each situation will have to be looked at individually and
decided. (A middle ground example here would be a period of time
in which all of your characters will not be allowed a single #1
Contenders match or title match for any title for an extended
period of time. If you think I wouldn't actually do that, ask
Sam how that one feels..)
Severity will be determined upon how the game is effected.
Low Severity:
[li]Does it just mess up a Collision or Fusion?[/li]
[li]Is the situation easily recoverable?[/li]
Anything that can be recovered and restored easily falls in the
low severity category.
Medium Severity:
[li]Is the inactivity thowing off a regular Pay Per view?[/li]
[li]Is the inactivity throwing off a special? (Example: The
Draft, the Awards Supershow)[/li]
Any situation that will require more than minimal effort to
repair, but not take effort that it would to move a mountain,
would fit medium severity.
High Severity:
[li]Is your inactivity stalling story lines for a GM or CEO's
characters beyond repair? (Seriously, a bad idea. Just don't do
it)[/li]
[li]Is this throwing off a grand Pay per view? (Examples:
Colliseum, Birth of Destruction. etc.)[/li]
[li]Is this the first time you have disappeared?[ (Multiple
times will automatically put you here.)[/li]
Any situation that will take an exceptionally high amount of
effort to repair or is simply can not be recovered or repaired
with out making more damages as a result, falls under the
highest severity level.
The above will be added into the Game Play Rules thread in the
not to distant future. In the end we all know this is just a
game. But its just not cool to kill the fun in this matter. Its
not fair to others who are depending on you for storyline
movement. Nor to the staff who has to put thing's back together
in the aftermath. Not to mention holding characters unusable
that more active players could and would actually use.
This is an executive decision on part of myself as C0-CEO of the
game and Webmaster of the forums. This may or may not be subject
to change. Any feedback you wish to make can be made in the
feedback thread or via PM.
