anon's 1v1 Self-Tourney
By: anon Date: February 13, 2013, 2:58 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
What's a self-tourney you say? Well, it is a tourney
that is devised for you to figure out specific schedules in
which both you and your opponent can play without having to be
on at a set time.
How will this be done? Well, here we go:
I'm here to present you a *different* AND successful tourney.
This 1v1 tourney is made to fit times, similar to how a ladder
works, yet in a tourney style, so every game counts. Anyone can
enter, and the format will be edited so it can fit everyone that
signed up.
Registration period ends Sunday, February 17, 2012 at 8 pm EST,
and the tourney begins Monday, February 18, 2012 at 12 pm EST.
Seeding will be done by Sunday, February 17, 2012 at 10 pm EST.
Registration begins now, so sign up!
The tourney will be done with a group stage and then an
elimination stage. If necessary, we may use a pre-elimination
stage if the number of people exceeds what can fit into each
group. For example, if there are 37 players registered, we will
have 8 groups of 4, in which 10 players battle out spots for
groups.
Seeding of groups will be done similar to how football(soccer)
does it, in pots arranged by skill level. If you argue that
you're in too low of a pot, then prove me wrong and beat the
other players in 1v1, it's supposed to fit your schedule; if you
argue you're in too low of a pot, be happy I even considered you
at that level.
Each stage must finish its games before we can commence the next
stage. So if there are 3 games yet to have been played in the
group stage or pre-elimination stage, they must finish before we
can move on to the elimination stage or group stage,
respectively.
There is no restrictions in when to play within your stage, so
your group can finish all its games before another group even
begins, and you can reach the final before the semi-finals have
been played when expecting your opponent. If a certain player
has not played within 2 days, though, their games will be
eliminated from the tournament. If the player that hasn't played
eliminated another player from a pre-elimination group, they
will replace the missing player from the group.
Games will be played on classic, 3 minutes, no goal limit. There
are 2 legs to every pre-elimination match. In group stage, you
must follow the schedule, so you cannot skip games. Each player
will have a chance to play in their own room, barring lag
problems. If there are lag problems in either of the 2 hosts, or
both, then both games must be played on a single or multiple
neutral hosts. I will also send out PMs to everyone in the
tourney. These PMs will contain your specific codewords for each
player that you face. ALL games must be recorded, no exceptions.
If you play a 2 leg pre-elimination or elimination match in a
single neutral host, both games must be recorded. If any of
these rules are violated, then the game will not be counted.
Constant violations will result in forfeiture of games and
possibly further punishment. All forfeits are a 2-0 loss. Every
recording must be sent to me to record statistics and edit it in
the posts.
Each win is 3 points while losses do not earn any points. In the
event of the given time expiring without either player leading,
then the game will be recorded as a draw. If the 2 legs of an
elimination match end drawn with an equal aggregate score, OT
must be played on a neutral host. There are no penalties.
Tiebreakers will be executed as such:
Group Stage
[li]Points[/li]
[li]Goal Difference[/li]
[li]Least Losses[/li]
[li]Goals For[/li]
[li]Games Between Players[/li]
[li]Goal Difference Between Players[/li]
[li]Away Goals Between Players[/li]
[li]Multiple Statistical Measures Taken Into Account[/li]
Pre-Elimination/Elimination
[li]Wins[/li]
[li]Goal Difference[/li]
[li]Away Goals[/li]
[li]Result of 3rd Game[/li]
*3rd game must be played on a neutral host.
You must give room information to your opponent, and also must
have at least a 50 as a handicap when hosting. You can do more,
but it will not affect your statistics, tiebreakers, or anything
unsaid.
The statistics and games will be recorded every day at around 4
pm EST so check back often to see who you might play next!
This will make it much easier for you since you can play
whenever you're available, and easy for me since I don't have to
admin anything and only have to record statistics, edit the
post, and send out codewords, instead of dealing with players
and wasting larger periods of time administrating games.
If you have any further questions or comments, please PM me or
post below. Good luck to you all, and may the odds be ever in
your favor.
Reminder: You can choose to play at 12 pm EST on Monday,
February 18, but you do not have to. You can play your scheduled
game during any time that day, up until next day. If you take
more than 2 days to finish or send PM, the game will be
forfeited, both home and away if not in Group Stage.
