family emergency

I'm going to be scarce for the next few days or so. My brother
was brought the intensive care unit this morning. He was
diagnosed with a rare strand of bacterial meningitis. He's
sedated and on oxygen as well as aggressive antibiotics. The
next 24 hours are critical for him.

The doctors said he had a 50% chance of survival. He quite
literally cheated death, and now he's made almost a complete
turnaround.
I took a photo of him after they took him off sedatives and
removed the breathing tube.

My uncle(best) had about a 2% survival chance and if he did
survive he had a 94% chance of a mental problem and 87% chance
of not being able to use one if not all of his limbs. However,
he basically fully recovered with the only problem being a bit
of reduced ability to maneuver his right side, the one that
mainly got ruined in the accident. This after only a year.
I know the feel of having a family member hospitalized and being
the family mainly involved with the problem. Shit sucks, even
for us, nearly 90 calls a day from people, running to hospital
every day, being eaten alive by everyone else related because we
let him cross a street at night. I hope for a moderately quick
recovery to get him active and moving as soon as possible. My
uncle nearly hurt nurses, doctors, and therapists, frustrated
that he's stuck in a bed and can't feel the outside.
