We shouldn't move to a new site imo. I know you say it will
"clean it up" (get rid of the inactives) but it's fine if there
are inactives they don't hurt the league. SPHB has over 200
inactive members. I don't see the point of moving sites.

Naw this site is pretty crappy imo. We need a fresh look not to
mention the new site uses SMF rather than EzPortal (or whatever
this thing uses).

I looked into it and am planning on installing SMF onto this
site during the offseason (providing its free)

It seems like the problems we've been having are due to that
mentality. We are using free services such as createaforum, and
because of that we are having unstable connections. I think what
we really need is a cheap host (and domain) that we actually pay
for instead of using a .tk or a webege. That way we know the
site's performance won't take a hit and we will have greater
flexibility in the website's overall design. Just as a thought,
we could have each team pitch in a small amount of money at the
start of each season. A small portion of that money would go to
paying for the website and other web services that we would
need, and the rest could be set aside as a first place prize for
the league leaders in both divisions. A potential monetary gain
would almost certainly increase attendance, especially if they
don't want their ante to go for nothing.

Personally, i dont know if i would be willing to pay for
something like this. I can say that if SPHB required payment, i
would not be playing in it.
If you want to raise money for a new site, you can try, but i
dont know how much success you would have.
The people on the SMF support forums say:
This all depends on your budget.
We install SMF for $40. A host that has shared resources can be
around $12 a month
One that is VPS where you're in charge is around $30 a month

few things
it is free
i already tried
u cant convert createaforums into smfs
webege thing slap made and hes ded to dis league
you really cant do anything unless u manually install the smf
and do all of the coding for the site on you comp
smf is free if you set it up yourself but the domain does cost
money

So I'm guessing all we would need is an apache server to create
a PHP and SQL database. I could do that, but we would first need
an apache server. This is why we should just pay for a cheap
host and domain so that way we can do whatever the hell we want
with it including a wordpress so that the home page is like a
league blog but they can click on the forum tab up top to head
over to an SMF forum.
