DIVISION B WEEK 3 POWER RANKINGS
By: Cole72 Date: April 1, 2013, 5:36 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Ok I was bored no guarantee that I will be doing this
consistently every week I'll try but again no guarantee.
I had this past week off of school and have no school today or
tomorrow so I've decided I'll do some Power Rankings.
Might do Div A later, depends how I'm feeling.
COLE72'S POWER RANKINGS
1. CUBA CYCLONES
OFFENSE: A+ DEFENSE: B OVERALL: A
The Cuba Cyclones won 2 of their week 3 games by scores of 7-1.
Their only loss was a hard fought 3-2 loss to the Night Hawks.
It seems like everything is going right for the Cyclones at the
moment, with their Division A affiliate, the Detroit Recession
having sent down 4 players at the start of the season to really
power them up. Undrctrl has been by far their most effective
player, as he is for sure Division A worthy and I have no idea
why he's even in Division B. As long as undrctrl stays with the
Cyclones, every game in which he shows up for will be a very
tough challenge for their opponent. The Cyclones have also
gotten solid performances from Wazza, Cruel, and Jaymar and Lord
of Fail is being smart enough to not play himself in most of his
team's games.
2. GTA GOLDEN EAGLES
OFFENSE: B DEFENSE: B OVERALL: B
The GTA Golden Eagles recovered from a 2-10 record last season
and an 0-3 start to this season and have gone 3-1 since, not
counting HCD Cup matches. They have really been the shock of
the league, as no one though they would be in a playoff position
at this point of the season. Cole72 has done some work with his
team, and a late season signing from season 3 in Kentucky and a
trade for Peyronie has really helped them out. Swelly seems to
have a good future in GTA but has only been able to play one of
their games since being sent down by United talent, mainly due
to lag issues. Slothy seems to be a steal from the draft and
Cole72 has surprisingly been half-decent as a gk in their most
recent HCD matchup against the Penguin Pride and last week
against the Cuba Cyclones. Other than a forgettable performance
against CC to start the week they have been good since. Look
out for this team as they seem to be coming through.
3. PENGUIN PRIDE
OFFENSE: C DEFENSE: B+ OVERALL: B
The Penguin Pride don't quite have a perfect record like they
had last season, but they have been a dangerous team
nonetheless. Their only real game this past week was an HCD Cup
matchup against the Golden Eagles in which was a very close
game, and well played despite not having star goalkeeper sona.
Lint played very well but nobody else really impressed me. They
had their chances and could have won that game if not for a
couple of unlucky bounces. They had a forfeit win against the
New York Haxball club. Not much to say here. I didn;t exactly
choose a good week to do power rankings.
4. NIGHT HAWKS
OFFENSE: B- DEFENSE: C OVERALL: C+
The Night hawks had a very disappointing start to the season.
However, they might be able to build off of a 3-2 win over
division-leading Cuba Cyclones On Saturday. They beat them 3-2
because of a late goal by GM Blockade. That could just be a
huge stepping stone, seeing as though they had previously lost
to the Cyclones 7-0. They played a solid first half against the
Cyclones in their HCD Cup matchup, but after realizing they
would need a 10 goal second half in order to send the series to
extra time, they basically gave up and started trolling. On
paper it may look bad, seeing as though the final score was 7-1,
but really they know it doesn't mean anything. Hopefully they
can build off their 3-2 win and become a cup contender once
more.
5. NEW YORK HAXBALL CLUB
OFFENSE: F DEFENSE: F OVERALL: F
I have no idea what happened here. NYHC won their first 2
matches in dominant fashion, winning by scores of 7-1 and 9-1
against the Cyclones and Hawks. Since then, they have gone 0-3,
all 3 of their losses being forfeits due to lack of attendance.
They are still a very good team, with all 7 of their players
being talented (to say the least) and if they would start to
show up they can win games and have a god chance of returning to
division A.
Comments: Please no one take this seriously there wasn't much I
could grade the teams on looking at NYHC attendance and how HCD
Cup results do not affect the standings. As well, right now the
teams are very close in the standings and there is not much to
separate them. Lastly I'm a terrible author and probably biased
(I try not to be but sometimes I'm not sure if I'm being biased
or reasonable.)
