Samoa Joe Interview Recap : 2/7/2014

Samoa Joe was on the mix early this morning talking about the
show tonight and a few things in and out of the business.. As
well as taking calls from fans answering almost anything that
they wanted to know about the starHeres a quick recap of Joe
on the show this morning.
What its like to have life on the road and barely being home: "
Life on the road is rougher than what some might think.
Especially if you have a wife and kids they only see you for
two or three days and then the rest of the time is talk on the
phone or they stay up to see you on tv or something. In my case
its rough to leave behind my wife because being married with
no kids they think the other can get use to it better which
aint the case sometimes they don't understand I leave behind a
wife that's rough on just married guys with that being the only
family they have. But they don't understand its rougher on guys
who leave a wife and kids. You get your mind off the bad when
your at the show getting ready but life on the road aint always
as fun as you might think."
How much the business takes its toll on the body: " Alot.. Its
not a soft mat. Very physical at times mentally emotionally
physically its hard to get use to when your beat up. You go
one show almost right into another non stop theres no rest
except maybe two three hours then up and ready for another show.
Mentally you have to prepare and train when your gonna be at the
airport or when you gotta be here or there you have to make
yourself get use to it. However you never get use to being up
at two in the morning for a flight sometimes. Physically its a
different breed bro im tellin ya. You fall on that mat your
gonna feel it unlike some fans who say oh they know how to do
it I call bullshit because we still get hurt we still get
injuries we deal with and theres not a day where the pain goes
away you learn to push it out of your head but its there and
nothing can take it away. Emotionally I go back to leaving
family behind and not being there for certain things at home and
if you and your girl are fighting you cant work that out on
the road and that goes for women to on the road with who they
leave at home it really takes a toll in a lot of ways."
Putting everything on the line against CM Punk for the world
title.: " Ahh.. Punker and myself one more time in about a weeks
time. It took some thinking on how I could get him in there
without dodging me and having his cronies jump me from behind.
I did what I knew he couldn't resist I put everything on the
line my contract is up in August so I thought about it February
to August what six mmonths of me out of the ring no pay while
the contract sits and runs out if he beats me. He bit on it he
took the bait and now hes got no way to back out the inks dried
the date set time and place in stone. He has nothing to lose
but that championship I have everything in and out of the
business to lose. See I didn't just put my career on the line I
put all of it up im running a chance of loseing everything im
prepared for that. Not only could I lose my remaining contract
safety with pay while away from the ring but I can lose my wife
cause I would have no way to help make things better for her
or myself that's in my head when I said that. Not saying it
would go that far but a woman lieks a guy who can take care
of the family if I lose I have no way to be able to do so
therefore im risking not just the business side im risking
both sides and Punks smart he knows that. Should be a hell of a
fight no doubt about it and I don't plan on leaving without that
belt."
Being one of the few who stay a family man on the road with
different surroundings and chances to be with anyone on the
road.: " Theres always choices in life I chose to be in the
business by accident but I chose to keep doing it. Ive been with
some amazing women great girls that decided its best to go
their own way cause of the fact of being on the road and how
women are with the boys after a show when the boys go out
trust issues some might say. I hang out with a few of the guys
after a show have a few drinks sometimes to the point of
being way out in left field but I have never and im proud of
that never messed around ona girl ive been with while on the
road or with someone else. Theres a few that haven't in this
company and I respect that im one of them. Few and the proud
few to say hey were in a relationship it doesn't end cause
were not home with who were with its a way we live. Its also
the fact if you really care or love someone you aint gonna put
them through what yourself has gone through. I was cheated on
twice and one being my ex wife of six years I walked in on that
one while she was with another guy she didn't know I was home
obviously and to say that ended the whole thing. And because I
don't believe in messing around on someone listen if my mom or
dad found out I did they would kill me my dad especially. He
raised us the way he was and he expects us boys to live that
way. And I don't think my wife would put up with it ive seen her
temper a couple times already trust me it aint pretty."
The last two days of the tour and what fans can expect:"Alot of
fun and entertainment. Nothing to different from any other
show they have been to and the fun will continue and we all know
when im in their with whoever it is its gonna be physical. I
don't hold back im gonna hurt someone and its gonna be hard
hitting action each and every night. Tonights gonna be no
different its a packed card with their favorites and us hated
ones who they love to hate around here. And ill even go one
better ill come out to the people after before and during
break. Meet me by the left side of the ring or back by the bar
ill spend some time with ya. You spend your money to give to us
ill give back to you. I promise you wanna spend some one on one
time with me oh guys to I guess. Joking im not that way anyone
kids women prefereably women .. Ill take and hang with anyone.
Seriously meet me by the ring or at the bar ill have your
backs and we will have fun doesn't matter bring the kids if you
got them ill be uncle JOe for awhile I don't care im a uncle
anyway so it comes naturally. Ill get them whatever they want as
well its on me lets hang out and be a family tonight I got
y'all covered."[/center]
