OMG, I am so very glad you are here. I have so many issues with
reddit that I closed my account. My one pause was that I would
miss your posts with pictures of Lilly. I absolutely adore her!
So glad to see you here and hope you keep posting pictures of
       her.

You can't get rid of me (or her) that easily.
I'm sorry you had issues with Reddit! The Cavia_-Porcellus
account is my 3rd active account over there - I love it and I
find it super easy to use. But I guess that's partly because
       I've had practice.

Today's adventure: The vet (nothing serious!), who sent her home
with a snazzy bandana full of calm-down pheromones. She's
       totally zooted.

       Hey. This hurts to type.
I talked about this in the subreddit, but:
Last night, Lillz refused her dinner, then vomited up breakfast,
then kept drinking water and vomiting up the water. We took her
to the emergency vet. We thought a possible intestine blockage,
       maybe emergency surgery.
They admitted her overnight. As they were going to do their
routine scans, she almost fainted, which led to an emergency
scan that found her heart was
       a) enlarged
       and
       b) surrounded by fluid, compressing it and keeping it from
       beating properly.
They drained the fluid and she stabilized overnight. In the
morning, I got a call from the day vet who was really optimistic
about her prognosis, but recommended further ultrasounds in the
       afternoon, which I authorized.
The afternoon call was not so great.
She has an angiosarcoma (tumor at the base of her heart). Based
on the location, they can't remove it. The most aggressive
treatments will only buy her an average of 4-6 months.
The fluid last night was due to the tumor bleeding. The next
time that happens will probably be the last time. If we go the
hospice route, her prognosis is anywhere from 1 day to 4 weeks.
We're able to go get her in about 45 minutes - they need time to
prep her and get her meds ready.
There is nothing we could have done and no way to spot it before
it was spotted, so we're absolved of any guilt here. That
       doesn't help.
