Coda is actually the movie that I became interested in seeing
based on the clips I've seen tonight, so I'm glad it won.

Wtf are the Oscars doing?
They're having problems because apparently the way Venus is
sitting with her arms crossed, when they panned to her, there's
a wardrobe malfunction in progress.
Would have made more sense to just keep the camera on will
smith.
But we’re not surprised about a wardrobe malfunction.
I don’t recall so much bare Oscar boob before, and that’s prior
to the noted malfunction. My guess is that there were several
more throughout the night.

I wasn't even watching, partner screamed " Holy shit, Will Smith
just slapped Chris Rock"
So now I watched through his speech, man.
There were better ways to handle that.
Kinda speechless that Smith did that, thought it was fake for a
minute.

Okay, I calmed myself and caught up. Seriously with Smith's
speech. That is supposed to make it okay? I can't buy your
about love speech when you just hit a person for making a bad
joke. There are other ways to defend your loved ones from the
words of a person not threatening any violence. And, he didn't
apologize to Chris Rock, or to us, the audience out here.
Still doesn't hit. I hope Chris Rock is okay.
Happy with best picture.

It’ll be interesting to see what Chris Rock does about it. The
LAPD is saying they can’t touch it unless he files a police
report.

It was so wrong on so many levels. There was bad blood from
Rock’s digs at Jada in 2016 and I offer that as context not
justification. “You made me hit you” never flies in my book.
Continuing with musing, can you imagine if Kirsten would have
slapped Amy in the last segment. Interesting to play the gender
flip. We loved her and Jesse in Fargo where they met years ago.
I’m interested if the DA presses charges — I mean the evidence
is pretty indisputable and a victim pressing charges shouldn’t
be needed.
What a flippin’ ride.

I was uncomfortable watching that.

I don’t see a gender flip situation there at all. Amy did not
make a joke about Kirsten’s appearance, and Kirsten isn’t
suffering from a medical condition that made her the butt of a
joke.

A wild ride for sure. Fake violence in movies and on TV rarely
bothers me because I know it isn't real. Real violence always
bothers me. I can't handle real hitting without a trigger,
especially in real time (in life or watching live TV). Such a
weird trigger tonight though. I can usually avoid seeing real
violence on TV by avoiding watching certain sports.
